Friday was Jack's favorite day of the week. He loved waking up before the sun and heading for the beach. He loved swimming. He loved the nets and lines. Every Friday he brought in a catch for the kitchen and the feeling of usefulness he got from the act was unrivaled by anything else he did during the week

He glanced up then, and...
"Jesus Christ, Jack, would you put that thing away? I'm trying to eat here."
That thing, of course, just being the fact that he was half naked and sweaty. Though the fact that he smelled strongly of fish made that slightly less appealing.

"You can stand the sight for ten minutes," he replied. "Do you want some coffee while I'm over here?"

"Good sandwich?"

He smiled at the sight of his husband working, grinning as he sat down far enough away to not to get splattered with fish guts.
"Wasn't sure you'd still be here," he admitted. "I thought you might already be heading up to the compound."

He smiled faintly, and then ducked his head. "Actually, I've had some time to think, and I want to talk to you about something."

"Okay," he said, knife slipping into a fish easily. "What do you want to talk about?"
Reply
"I'd ask if you wanted some help but there's no way I'm going to get half naked and stand next to you. That's just going to embarrass everyone."

"I wouldn't say no to helping me out but I only have the one knife. Looks like you're off the hook for working," he continued, happily grabbing another so he could slit it open.

"And hey, everyone needs a supervisor. I'm...supervising."

"So how's things, Jack? You and Sam doing okay with William? That's got to be an adjustment," he said. He couldn't imagine taking on that kind of responsibility in the wake of losing good friends. He twisted to toss the gutted fish in the basket and grab a new slippery creature. He spotted a bit of movement and when he saw it was a person he flashed a bright, toothy smile and waved with the knife before getting back to work. He wanted to get on the way back to the compound before the sun got much higher.

Walking doubled as excercise and a good way to calm them down.
She did smile as she saw Jack headed in her direction.
"Hey," She greeted. "Mind some company." She didn't think so, after all, this was Jack, one of the most social guys on the island, but it was more a request than a question anyway.
She was also extremely glad to be well past her nausea, or the smell of fish would've sent her running as far away from him as possible. She didn't even like being near Hanzo when she was in that stage and he would return from a fishing trip.

"How are you feeling? Doing okay?" he asked as he sliced into the belly of another of his haul.

"I'm okay," She rested a hand under her belly. "I swear my insides are black and blue from kicking, but all things considered I'm not surprised." After all, both she and Hanzo were serious martial artists, would only make sense for their kids to get some of their influence.

"You've got a few months to go yet, right? Four or five?" he asked. He couldn't remember. He was so focused on their own kid that everything else had sort of faded into the background.
