"Hello there, ladies. May I say, you're both looking particularly lovely today. And small." Not that I had much room to talk. I wasn't about to put money on it, but chances were that I was the shortest twelve year old on the island. Probably the only one in a tunic too. But at least I was taller than the ladies on the couch.

"Enjoying your second childhoods so far?"

[Either or both is good with me.]

It takes a moment of narrowed eyes and going over the normally adult guys she knows, but it isn't too long before Aphrodite brightens into a dazzling, if much more youthful smile. "Dido!" she chirps, standing and going over to him, giggling a little at how right now, he's actually quite a bit taller than her instead of how things normally are. "Well, I am now. How old are you, anyway? You look older than me and Gabby, for sure."

"Well, it's a first childhood for Aphrodite technically," Gabrielle said matter a factly as she waved with a welcoming grin to Falco. She hopped over the couch and followed Aphrodite over to him. "I'm just trying to make sure she gets the full experience!"

"That's one of the joys of being born out of the foam, is it? No childhood. I'm a bit jealous. Things weren't so fun the last time I was twelve." This time things were going to be different. This time I had more than thirty years' worth of experience on my side. "What does the full childhood experience entail so far?"

[I missed this earlier and I have no clue how, but oh I am so sorry. We can still keep it going? Or not?]

Rachel watched the two girls from a distance, giggling when she clearly saw one of them crossing her fingers behind her back. Someone was not going to be amused when this was all said and done. But what she didn't see was an adult around, and that made her a little nervous. If the girls didn't have their adult memories, they probably needed someone to keep an eye on them and in the absence of someone more responsible...

"Hi, girls!" Rachel waved, heading over. She supposed she could keep an eye on the duo for a little while.

[ooc: Both, I guess, for maximum lulz.]

Aphrodite looks up at the sound of the voice, giving a tentative wave back, then leans in to Gabby. "Hey, isn't that your friend?" she asks in a stage whisper. "I don't know her name, I call her Tiger Girl in my head."

Gabrielle had looked over when she heard Rachel and beamed a bright smile. As she jumped down off the couch, she gave Aphrodite a look with a wrinkled nose. "Don't call her that, that's not very nice!"

Then she set off and almost tackled Rachel with a hug around her thighs. "Rachel! Hi!"

Tiger Girl? Seriously? That was... apt, but kinda cruel and she couldn't help the slight scowl that crossed her face. It was short-lived, though, rapidly replaced by surprise and a little confusion as the other blonde kid wrapped herself around Rachel's legs.

"Um, hi... I... have no idea who you are. Sorry!" She tried to sound as apologetic about that as she could.

Wandering aimlessly, taking in the island shenanigans but not being a part of them, I overhear the kids playing, and something makes me take a second look.

I've never seen these kids before. I don't usually notice things like this, but this Island is far, far smaller than New York. I know when new people show up. But this is different. These two look and sound disturbingly familiar.

Then the really pink girl says "I don't do dirt", and the realization hits me.

"No way," I breathed. "Aphrodite?!"

Glancing over at the sound of her name, Aphrodite gives a wry smile and a wave. "Oh, hey, Cuz," she says. "Looks like you escaped this totally bogus island prank, you lucky kid." Nevermind calling him 'kid' seems pretty weird when she's seven.

When she heard Percy, Gabrielle just loved over her shoulder and waved. "Hi Percy! No second childhood for you huh?"

I goggled a bit when I realized that the other girl was Gabrielle, but then I recovered a bit. I gave them both a sympathetic smile. "Yeah, the Island decided to lay off me, this time."

But, really, if I had a choice between running around as a four-year-old and staying with Annabeth, I'd have chosen the second childhood. In a heartbeat.

"Are you two doing okay?" I asked.
