Sam didn't know who the old guy was, or why there was a second boar watching him, and he was sure it would be a very interesting story behind it all if he could stop and ask about it but right now he was running from another boar.
At least, he had been running from one, but apparently it had given up the chase, or it was lying in wait for him somewhere along the non-existent trail.
"Heeeeeyyyy boar," Sam said softly, quietly tiptoeing over to where the strange man was. He hadn't seen the guy around the island, which meant he was either a newcomer or a hermit. Right now he was leaning toward crazy old hermit, mostly because he wanted to meet one.
"Good boar. Just go home boar, nothing to see here."
The boar did not seem impressed with Sam's attempts to pacify it. "Perhaps you should stop talking to it," Iroh whispered as quietly as he could. "It doesn't seem to be inclined for conversation."

"SHHHHH you'll scare it!" he hissed, eying the creature nervously. It was never a good idea to be loud and make sudden movements around wild animals.
