Alexis had been about to step outside when the sky opened up, and she hastily backed back into the compound with a squeak.
A short time later, she chanced another look and found the rain was gone but a Dodge had been added, having a smoke out front. Alexis still flushed faint pink with embarrassment when she thought of how she'd behaved with him at the rave, but she smiled softly anyway and went over to join him, making sure to stand away from where the smoke was blowing. "Aren't you uncomfortable in those wet clothes?" she asked.
"I'm starting to itch but I'm smoking. Not wasting it just to go inside," he said with a smirk. "You missed it. It was really coming down for, uh, three minutes. Then it just quit."
"Gotta love those tropical rainshowers," Alexis said with a half smile. "I've been caught out in them a few times now. At least it's usually hot so you dry off pretty quick, if you're far away from the compound or something."
"I feel like I'm in a sauna. I'll go in and get something dry in a minute," he said, scratching his stomach. His shirt pulled and bunched and then just stayed that way.
