Zelda was used to the bookshelf providing...dubious forms of entertainment upon occasion and this evening was no exception. She was researching a few concepts she'd learned in Dr. Zimmerman's class (Dissociative Identity Disorder, specifically, because it fascinated her) and had hoped that the bookshelf could provide her something in the way of ( Read more... )

Bart was bored enough to figure he'd see if he could borrow the tv and play some games. He didn't have the greatest in the universe, but they were classics. And an old adventure RPG was always fun. He'd brought Zelda and the Adventures of Link and figured on swapping between the two if he died. It was something to do, anyway.

What he hadn't expected was someone there fighting with the bookshelf. "Uh, sorry..."

"Not a problem," Zelda said quietly, moving to go back to the sofa with her pile of magazines. "I didn't mean to disturb you, or anything. I am simply trying to get the bookshelf to cooperate with me."

"I was just going to play something on the TV," Bart said, not sure he wanted to ask about the Cosmo. Those quizzes were always freaky.

"I know it's ancient and all, but it's the best I have."

"Feel free. I never even turn it on," Zelda confessed, and it was true. She never really had any interest in the television even though other people seemed to use it and even fight with one another about what to watch. She much preferred books.

"I suppose it's a common thing, where you're from?"

"There's ones with naked people too," Ygritte said wisely, climbing the back of the couch and sitting on Zelda's hips. "Very helpful when one's learning t'read." Her own reading level was still slightly below the average teenager, despite plenty of frustrating work, but she could manage most tasks.

She attempted to peer over the top of the magazine, her hair tumbling wildly over the pages.

Zelda laughed a little, thoroughly distracted from reading with a real, live girl in her lap to occupy her time. She threaded her hands in Ygritte's hair and tugged her that much closer.

"I hardly need magazines with naked people in them, Ygritte."

"I know," she said, grinning widely, and perhaps a little bit suggestively. "What are y'reading, hm?" The magazine is picked up and tossed aside in favor of Ygritte delivering a slow, searing kiss.

After the kiss was over and Zelda had blinked back into rational thought, she touched the magazine lightly.

"It's sexual advice, it seems. Not that I suppose I really need it, but it couldn't hurt, yes?"
