Alistair couldn't quite help but notice the racket going on in the kitchen. He paused in the doorway, watching the going ons with curious interest. He didn't remain quiet for long, however, when he realized what was the problem and that she seemed to have injured herself.

"I've been here months and I've still yet to understand how that thing works," he said, hiding his smile. He fully understood her exasperation - even burned himself once - as he'd done battle with the appliance himself once or twice. He walked over to the sink - one of the few things in the kitchen he did understand fully - and turned the cold water on. Motioning her over, he added, "Here, dunk your arm under this. It should make it hurt less."

Forcing herself to take a deep breath to calm down, Gabrielle walked over to the sink and gladly put her arm under to relieve the sting of the burn. "Thanks." She said as she managed a small grateful smile. "Is it the obvious that I have no idea what I'm doing? It's not fair that someone of us don't have the luxury of knowing how to work all this stuff."

"Only because I had the same reaction to it," he assured, giving her room when she walked over to put her injury under the water. "With more flailing, actually. I usually just let people who actually know how to use it make things now."

"That would be the smart thing to do wouldn't it? But as my friend Xena likes to point out, I'm cursed with wanting to know everything." Gabrielle said with a laugh, not negative about it at all. "So when or where are you from? I have to admit, it's a bit of relief to know I'm not the only one with an excuse to be clueless around here."
