There were afternoons on the island where Lex liked nothing better then to sit and play with piano in the rec room. It was relaxing in a way nothing else was and best of all, it reminded him of times with his mother, sitting beside her on the bench as she practiced with him.

"It has a catchy tune, but it won't stand the test of time." Even though James was more partial to rock than classical, there were just some things that he knew.
"Oh! I know you from the club," James exclaimed suddenly, inappropriately.

"Your Helen's new doorman." Lex stated with a small nod at the recognition. "I know she's very thankful for new help." After a small glare at the jukebox, he began playing again, lightly and without the energy as before, more distracted then anything else. "I'm not sure if I introduced myself yet. Lex Luthor."

It was moments like these that really made him miss Jessie and Meowth and the motto. They would have made a dramatic entrance and everyone would know who they were. Or perhaps not. Whatever suited their cover story maybe.
"Do you sing or play anything else?"
Reply
"No, I'm afraid it's just the piano. It was my mother's retort to my father teaching me fencing. Yourself?"

He headed over to the piano to give Lex his cup, after first bending to press a soft kiss to his cheek. "Your tea, Sascha."

He shook his head then took a sip of tea, savoring the taste. He'd cut back on the sugar when filling Lex's cup, but his own had all the sugar he could stand and then some.
"Jukebox aside, how have you been?"

Before he could finish, the jukebox changed it's tune. To someone who sounded like Anatoly singing about panda's having sex. "Oh for fuck's sake!" Lex growled as he dropped his head to the keys of the piano again.

"Play it again, Sam?" She leaned against the door frame, giving him the opportunity to invite her in or kick her out. With the look on his face it could go either way she figured.

When he heard the familiar voice, that wasn't his own, Lex lifted his head and gave Trixa a relieved smile. "Gladly. I was playing Gershwin but I could be persuaded to play something else."

She pulled up a chair and settled into it, watching the lonely pianist.
"How long you been playing?"

"Do you give?"
He stopped when he heard a familiar voice - singing? - and changed direction so that they would continue into the rec room. He had someone to introduce Bart to, now. Once he gave in.

He groaned as Kon tightened the grip just enough to be painful, but nowhere near damaging. "All right, uncle! You win!"
Reply
"Who is your friend Kon?" He asked in an as even a tone as he could manage.

He looked over at Bart and there was repressed laughter sparkling in his eyes. "Bart, this is..." He let the moment stretch out for a minute, although Bart had probably already figured it out already. "Dun, dun, dun. My father, Lex Luthor."

Lost in his own thoughts, he barely noticed the song on the jukebox but did note the discordant jangle of keys. Coming into the rec room, coffee mug in hand and bags starting under his eyes, Sam frowned at the back of Lex's head. "You okay, dude?"
Reply
Instead, he frowned slightly and cocked his head at Sam. "Are you sure I shouldn't be asking if your okay?"
Reply
He did frown for a second though, staring at the jukebox, before he shook himself out it with a dismissive, slight wave of his hand to Lex. "I'll get over it. Just been a long night. Had some.. family issues."
