Most of the people who had gone missing seemed to be accounted for, but Casey didn't want to leave any dinosaur unturned. As a member of the ITF, he had a responsibility to the people of the island. Even the ones who weren't smart enough to find their own way home, but he supposed that a culling of the weaker members of the herd wasn't really up ( Read more... )

Annabeth was fine and that was the important thing. Thalia knew that. It didn't stop her from lingering in dino territory, using the excuse of looking for the few remaining people who hadn't made it back to check the place out.

Creeping from tree to tree, bow at the ready she paused to give a sweeping glance of the area. She saw the man and stopped, debating if she should say anything. One look at the gun in his hands told her that speaking up was definitely the better choice.

"Find anyone?" she called striding out from the shelter of a tree.

Casey was well aware that there were civilians in the area, and he wasn't trigger happy to begin with (no matter what Bartowski thought), so the girl wasn't in any danger from him. Which didn't mean she was entirely safe, given that they were in enemy territory, though she did look like she knew how to hold the bow she had.

"Found you," he answered, lowering his weapon.

"Doesn't count." Her tone was nonchalant. Battle ready and on the prowl Thalia was in her element in a way she hadn't been for a long time. There was no way she was giving this up without having a little fun first.

"Wasn't lost. Do we know how many are out here still?"

"Doesn't matter if you were lost or not. Still found you. There are a few still out wandering. I suspect one of two might insist they're not lost, either."

It wasn't like Casey was keeping score or anything, but it so totally did count.

"Always I am seeing you out in jungle," Natalya mused as she stepped down from a long-ago fallen tree trunk into the still-soft dirt. She was going to miss the rain, as inconvenient as it had sometimes been, if only because it had cooled things down somewhat.

"But no monster this time. Unless this is why you are come so far the way out here?"

"That just means you're always out in the jungle, too," Casey pointed out. Not that he was going to complain about running into Natalya instead of dinosaurs, but was kind of itching for an enemy to fight, and she barely even counted as Russian, as far as current politics categorized her in his mind.. "Just making sure no one is having any monster-related issues I can help out with."

She smirked, slightly, and tilted her head enough to the side where her hair fella cross to cover one eye.

"This, so selfless- son of a bitch," she broke off irritably, pushing the hair back.

"People are have trampoline and electric guitar, no one I am know is have scissors." She wiped some tree bark fiber off her hands, onto her shorts, and walked nearer.

"It is sounds like you are bored."

"Maybe a little bit bored, after having some excitment. Not that it's good some people were almost dino chow, but it was definitely more interesting." Casey really would have preferred a slightly more intellectually challenging opponent, but he'd take what he could get.

"I'm sure we could liberate some scissors from someone somewhere, though there's probably a hairdresser or a barber around. Seems like the kind of mostly useless skill someone here would have."
