Davos supposed that he had been lucky. Certainly Harry had been keen to mention how his wounds could have been far worse. In the week straight after his injury he had been bed ridden, his arms and legs bound and raised, but he was now free to move around unsupervised, if painfully and only with padding and crutches ( Read more... )

Her days are spent wandering. This place may not be so large it is unmanageable but the more that she moves the more that Ophelia feels a part of things. There is always something new to see or do.

Having heeded the doctor's warning for a while, she is on foot this time with her dog at her heels as she comes upon Davros and the statue.

Keeping silent she studies the object for a moment before clearing her throat and speaking. "She does have a lovely face."

"Aye," Davos replied, lifting his crutch with his bandaged right hand in a quick greeting. "That she does."

Lifting her own hand, Ophelia wiggles her fingers in greeting. A smile flits onto her face as she tilts her head to look at the statue.

"Pity about the rest of her." She doesn't ask what happened. She just doesn't feel the need to.

"Aye," he agreed again. "It is good to see you again, m'lady."

He had taught Ophelia a little sword work, some time ago, and he had liked her well enough, as far as those things went.

Harry hadn't entirely expected to see Davos outside his hut, given that it was a long way to go on crutches. Although he supposed he shouldn't be surprised - in Davos' place he'd probably have done the same thing given the opportunity.

"How are you feeling?" he asked. Looking at the melted statue it was easy to see how much worse Davos' injuries could have been.

His skin, under his bandages and padding, itched something awful, to tell the truth, and there was a pain to moving his muscles that he had not yet get used to and so tired him quickly. His lack of sweat meant his skin felt hot and dry when outside and he had lost too much weight from an already slim frame to be comfortable dragging his body around. But, despite all that, he was better for having been to his hut.

"Well enough," he replied honestly. "'Tis good to be out walking again.

"It's good to see you out and about again." He did hate to see people laid up with illness or injury. "At least some of it's been saved." Given that Davos had burnt himself trying to save a statue from a fire, Harry thought against the idea of picking it up to get a better look, since it must be important in some way. "What was so important that you burnt yourself saving it?"

"My gods," he gave the, now familiar, answer evenly with a nod towards the statue. "That's the Mother there."

One saved out of seven, maybe, but still one saved.
