Keller-Dex wedding

Jennifer had been looking forward to this day ever since Ronon's ever-so-casual proposal. It wasn't a huge, lavish wedding, like little girls dream about sometimes, but it was early evening on the beach and it was beautiful. The clothes box had been nice enough, after much sweet-talking and prodding, to supply Jennifer with a pretty dress and ( Read more... )

Daniel wasn't sure what it was about weddings. Every one that he managed to go to on the island had some shadow hanging over it. This time it was that Patrick was missing. He was pretty sure it wasn't missing in the conventional way, or at least he hoped not. He didn't know. Not in the way he'd known with Owen. And if he was missing and not missing...well, that just pissed Daniel off. On this island, to vanish without warning. But he kept his feelings buried and tried to look happy for the bride and groom. That and he hoped that Jack...or Sam...or Vala...or anyone else he knew didn't see what was beneath the smile.

"Hey, Daniel," Jennifer said. She was making the rounds and saying hi to everyone and didn't think she'd spoken to Daniel yet. "Thanks for coming. There's cake and drinks if you want anything--just help yourself." Vala had kind of outdone herself and there was a lot to enjoy.

"Hey. Congratulations." Daniel leaned in and kissed her cheek. "This is Vala's handiwork, right? The food? I'm pretty sure that I'd know her handiwork anywhere." Despite the fact that the only time he knew someone else's food or drink, it was Ianto's coffee. Or maybe Jack's, since it seemed like his own so much.

"Oh yes, this is all Vala's doing," Jennifer confirmed. "I'm useless at cooking, unfortunately. I'm so glad she was nice enough to help out." It might not be a big fancy catered banquet, but Jennifer wasn't for that kind of thing anyway and this was so much better. "So don't let any go to waste, okay? She'll be offended." Though it looked like Rodney was doing pretty good with the cake, so they didn't really need to worry about that.
