She'd spent the morning at the Children's Office, but had a few spare minutes before she needed to get over to the Hub to settle in for the night. The Hub, the C.O., and used to be the Catscratch... Ever since she had arrived, Buffy quickly found that the island had awoken the explorer within. Recon was a part of it, and while the "better safe than sorry" mentality contradicted most of her actions, it applied now more than ever. The safe bet was to never let one's guard down, and always approach with some level of caution or suspicion. But while she still had her reservations about the island and the circumstances of her arrival, Buffy was far more interested in simply curing her boredom.

Hence the exploring, which currently brought her to the third floor of the Compound. It looked like a quiet enough afternoon; all the better for Buffy, who wasn't too keen on running into anyone and explaining herself. Naturally, that was exactly what ended up happening when she stumbled into the Children's Office.

"Oh- hi," she waved. "Sorry, I didn't know anyone else was around."

Ellen was just finishing up some paperwork, and she glanced up, grinning widely. "No, not at all." She paused, head tilting just slightly. "You look a little old for this neck of the woods. You looking for someone?"

"Not specifically," Buffy answered as her gaze swept over surrounding area and she realized why she would look out of place. "More like giving myself the official one-woman tour, minus the clued-in tour guide."

After a moment of silence, she added, "I'm Buffy."

"Hey Ellen," Sam greeted, pitching his voice to something quiet so as not to startle the woman. He really didn't want her on his ass for any reason. "There enough for two cups there?"
