The headache had been nagging at Ronon for two days. He'd tried exercising until it went away - running normally cleared his head, gave him focus. His throat had ended up hurting and no matter how much water he drank it didn't help the cough. For having been up all night with her patients, Jennifer was surprisingly not that tired, so she didn't sleep much later than usual. When she got up, she thought she'd stop by and see Ronon before going on to the compound to check on Elizabeth and the baby, but when she saw him she knew it would be a bit before she went anywhere. "What are you doing?" she demanded, pulling his hand away from his arm. Sand? Really? Those blisters were unmistakable, especially knowing there was something of a chickenpox epidemic on-island right now.

Ronon had been so distracted by the itching that Jennifer had snuck up on him. This only made it that much more annoying. "It itches," he informed her as if that wasn't obvious. "Sand helps."

"Sand is full of germs and infectious organisms," she replied, lifting his arm for closer inspection. Yes, those looked like chickenpox blisters, all right. She put a hand to his forehead to check for fever, though she could tell just by looking at him that he was feverish.

"You've got chickenpox," she informed him. "Do you know what that is?"

Ronon knew what a pox was and he knew a chicken was a kind of eating bird from Earth. So he could gather a reasonable idea as he dropped the apparently very infectious and dangerous sand with a snort. "Earth disease," he hazarded.
