Frank had an amused smile playing on his face at Jim talking to his dogs, ever before he heard the subject of conversation. He caught from 'regression' onwards and stopped a little way from King, reaching to the sleeve of his t-shirt to wipe the sweat from his eyes. Running in island-heat was like running on coals sometimes, so it didn't make much difference.

"I have no stamp but I do have approval," he commented by way of greeting. "Scary adult emotions, eugh." He gave a fully body shiver.

Frank was pulling away before he even realised it. A reflex, since he'd all but trained himself to keep his hands off Lennox until the right moment came along when neither of them would feel awkward or guilty. Lennox's hand around his neck prevented his retreat though, and for that he'd find himself thankful since it gave him a split-second to realise he didn't feel either of those things right now. So the resistance fell away and he pressed towards Lennox again, kissing him back and dropping a palm to the ground behind him for balance.

There was a part of Lennox that felt sort of guilty for kissing Frank so soon after the party and everything that had gone on there, but at the same time, he still wanted it. He leaned in with a soft noise, kissing him harder for a moment, then broke away with a faint grin. "So..." he said, then laughed softly.

When they parted, Frank rocked back with a slow blink and swiped his tongue along his lower lip, ducking his head. "Yeah..." Reality had come back faster than he'd have liked but he'd take what he could get right about now. "So that's how," he added, the rest of his breath escaping quickly. Not that Lennox had truly needed showing in the first place.

"Ahhh," Lennox said with a grin, drawing the word out, nodding along thoughtfully. "See, I thought it was something more like this."

Without warning, he reached for Frank again, fingers curling in the front of his shirt, pulling him in for another kiss. He'd done it once and now he only wanted to do it again.

Kissing on the floor was harder than Frank had imagined and his free hand instinctively moved to Lennox's waist to hold on, fingers pressing through the thin fabric of the t-shirt. As unexpected as this was, he definitely didn't have any complaints. He was so far in the opposite direction, in fact, that he lost all remnants of hesitation completely and just kept going when Lennox pulled him in, getting closer, the kiss more demanding, letting Lennox get a small peak at how much Frank wanted him. It was usually well-hidden under layers of self-denial and friendship and jaded fear, but there was something about Lennox that could draw out little bits at a time, the longer he was with him.

Kissing Frank was sort of exactly how Lennox had expected it to be and yet completely different at the same time. Foreign and interesting and new. Letting out a soft hum of contentment, his eyes closed and he relaxed into the kiss, lips parted, leaning into Frank happily.

Frank didn't want to end the moment but with dogs sniffing around and people constantly walking past, to and from the Compound, he wasn't sure if here was the best place to...try this. So he lifted a hand to Lennox's jaw and reluctantly finished the kiss, breaking away but leaving the hand there a moment longer like he had to forcibly keep himself from going back for more.

"I stand corrected," he admitted with a slight drawl, narrowing his eyes in faux contemplation. "Your way wins but it was a pretty close call."

"Yeah, I think you're right," Lennox agreed with a grin, leaning back on his hands. The smile that spread across his face was totally natural and felt completely right. "But they were both fun."

Fun wasn't such a bad word, Frank decided. They might not know exactly where this would go, if anywhere, but they were friends and they knew they liked each other, so what was wrong with having some fun while finding out? Frank definitely hadn't had enough of it in his life but he was comfortable enough with Lennox to relax and allow himself to. It showed in his body language when he mimicked Lennox's posture and nodded lightly in agreement.

"Truer words have never been spoken." He dropped his head back for a moment to catch the sun and let out a breath, then wiggled his shoulders when he felt the sweat from his jog running down his back. "I'm disgusting," he announced, sitting back up and brushing his hands together. "And in desperate need of a shower."

"You're pretty damn far from disgusting, actually," Lennox said with a grin, but he knew what Frank meant. He also knew that he didn't really want to say goodbye to him just yet. There was nothing wrong with taking some time, figuring out where things would go, but he also liked spending time with Frank. He liked being around him.

"Are you headed in?" he asked reluctantly, though he was still smiling.

"Uh..." Frank's gaze traveled from the door to the Compound, to Lennox, to the dogs nearby. "Nope," he answered, eyes back to their owner again. "Not for a little bit." He was pretty happy where he was. Even when his staying included a half-eaten bug all but being spat out on his leg by a dog who suddenly seemed to have picky taste buds. He peered down at it and sniffed, smirk on his lips. "Now I'm disgusting."

"Nah. Now you just know that he likes you," Lennox said with a grin, reaching over to brush the bug off Frank's leg as King sat down beside them and wagged his tail. He was just waiting for someone to pet him. "It's a sign of his affection, man."

King didn't have to wait very long since Frank was a pretty big sucker when it came to dogs. He had to be, living in the basement with two of them. And a chicken. A lot of his time down there was spent saving the latter's life from the salivating jaws of the former.

"I won't return it in quite the same way," he smiled, leaning forward so he was eye level with King, words aimed at him rather than Lennox as he scratched his neck and behind his ears. A long moment lost in that and he glanced over his shoulder at Jim. "so uh, King, Kingston, Hal, Halifax?" It wasn't too hard to work out. The why, a little more so. "Those places mean something to you?"

"Not really," Lennox admitted, grinning as he shrugged. "It's just sort of a way of keeping the Canadian tradition alive, I guess. Remembering where I came from and how much I loved it there."

He'd always been proud to be from Canada. It was a hell of a country and he wanted to remember that. "Then we just had a theme going and kept with it."

"What's it like?" Frank gave King one last scritch before turning his attention to Lennox. "Where you're from. I've never been to Canada before. To me it's all uh," he waved a hand around, not sure what word to use, "uh...snow." He gave Jim a look to apologise for his ignorance. "Maybe with a city here and there? And Mounties."
