Tonight was the most glorious night- when the Bob Barker Memorial Laser Tag Park was finally unveiled for all to see. He'd spent the past few days making sure everything was just right so that it was all a vision of light-based fake violence. As if in anticipation, the jukebox had been playing his 'Get Psyched' mix for the past day and a half on ( Read more... )

Robin was on-edge from the games. Not because she was out of shape and not because of anything else, but mostly because she had kind of said the big L word during them and now she was feeling like they were about to crash off the freeway. God, she hated that metaphor. That stupid, stupid, perfect metaphor. She was trying to calm herself and juice was going to have to do until she got back to her place and to the Scotch. It felt like a two-finger night.

Robin downed her lemonade and wished to god it was spiked, but it wasn't, so she was going to keep on with tense for a couple minutes more. "Robin Scherbatsky," she introduced herself with a grin. "Team...Marshall? And then whatever Barney's calling our team the second go-around. I let him call the shots because this is his project."

Arnold recognized the eager young man with the intricate tattoo. With something like that engraved on his face Arnold wasn't likely to forget him! He saw him checking out the equipment and headed over.

"Ah, Zell. Good to see you lad!" Actually he was pretty indifferent about seeing Zell, but it seemed like the polite thing to say, and he was trying to improve himself. "Checking out the accouterments, eh? A little crude by 23rd century standards, but impressive all the same!"

"It does indeed!" He took a quick look at the guns and vests and selected what looked to be the best of the lot. He picked them up and slid the vest over his head.

"Are you ready for your first war game simulation?"

Harry had been looking forward to this. Being cooped up on the island was making him all stir-crazy, and he knew far too well how he tended to get all twitchy if he didn't get a chance to burn off his energy. It looked like it was gonna be a nice night for it, too.

He wasn't going to do this thing by halves. He'd got his uniform on - shame he didn't have the webbing for his helmet - and had already taken the precaution of smearing dirt on his face for camouflage. The other team weren't gonna stand a chance.

"Hey!" he called, walking up. "You guys ready to get your asses kicked?"

"Yeah, I think we've got a little bit of an unfair advantage," Harry said, immediately heading over to the buffet table to get a drink. Non-alcoholic, mind you, but hydration was always important. "Two actual war veterans? Hell, we could take 'em down by ourselves."

He paused and sipped at the drink, thinking that he'd better fight down his urges and make sure not to take things over. At least, not too much. As long as they followed his lead.

"Though I'm sure everyone else can contribute. Now, tactics - I bet you anything the other team'll split up and go on the hunt, and what we've got to do is stick together. Move quietly, move fast, and pick 'em off, one by one. Should be easy."

Coraline may have been the youngest person on either of the teams but what she lacked in age, she certainly made up for in height. Standing tall and proud Coraline smiled pleasantly and wished her opposition the best of luck (they'd need it) before she got her game face on. Normally Coraline Jones wore bright blues and reds and yellows but today she wore dull browns and greens and greys. Laser tag was the perfect way to have fun and also find out if what she had learned would help her defeat the Other Mother.

Plus she totally wanted to beat Mister Barney. He was going down.

Coraline was going to shoot the man but then realised he was one of the few people on her team. Coraline frowned. It really should have been her versus all the Grown Ups and then that would've shown them that children too were a force to be reckoned with.

"I'm not a kid, I'm twelve which is practically thirteen. Which is almost grown up," Coraline said looking at the man as if he was either blind or very stupid. "I'm Coraline, I think I'm on your team."

OOC: I didn't even know I had a tag on this, if you want to leave it that's fine if not then I'm peachy keen with continuing it.

He couldn't remember when he'd had this much fun. It certainly beat the smeg out of those amateur battle recreations he'd been in when he was younger. In this game they actually let you fire your weapon! He was even doing better than he'd expected. He was in pretty good shape from jogging with Carolyn, and his combat training with Col. Mitchell had actually improved his aim. But even with all of that we was still a not very impressive player.

Not that it stopped him in the least. He used every dirty trick he could think of; hiding behind teammates, 'accidentally' blocking his chest sensor, throwing rocks to distract his opponents, literally anything that would give him an advantage. None of that was helpful at the moment thought, as he found himself pinned down behind a tree by enemy fire.

OOC: Takes place during Game One. Members of Team Ted are welcome to tag in and offer support, and members of Team Marshall are welcome to tag in and exchange trash talk and laser beams. XD
