Avoiding Sheppard and everyone else seemed a little immature, and Rodney did not want such an unflattering adjective attached to his name

Teal'c, upon entering the kitchen, eyed both the fruit bowl and the man eating a banana from it, then sat down opposite, taking a banana for himself.

"Doctor McKay," he began, as he peeled the banana, "I am glad to see you. In the absence of Colonel Carter I wish to ask you something."

With that slightly cryptic remark Teal'c bit into the banana two-thirds of the way down and chewed happily.

"I did not stop to ask them." It had not been important - and still was not. "Many were still in the service of Apophis so would not understand."

"Really? Huh." Rodney looked mildly concerned, but he stopped short of actually physically moving away from Teal'c. "I guess the nature of reality is a little less important when you're serving an evil Goa'uld overlord."
