Weddings. The Doctor could get over himself for weddings, especially Ianto's wedding. He just had to behave himself. And behave himself he did, even if he wasn't so sure about the shirts--they rather looked like human sherbets, to be honest.

But hell.

He wasn't quite grinning, but he was definitely smiling as he made his way through the crowd, dodging the occasional errant pig that seemed to keep turning up. It was a good day.

"Delilah, I swear, if you get under my feet once more, pig!"

At least Charlie's feet were bare by then, the hem of her dress sweeping against the floor as she made her way around the party. When she saw the Doctor, she beamed.

"Having fun?"

Now that was the sort of attitude the Doctor liked to see at a wedding. Bare feet, a brightly smiling bride, free flowing booze...someone was laughing somewhere. A good time, not about destruction. "I'm doing pretty well for myself, I think," he said, and leaned in to kiss her cheeks. "Congratulations, Ms Jones. Or would you rather stick with Mrs now?"

Charlie beamed all over her face and pushed her curling hair back from her cheek.

"I think I'll stick with Mrs for a while. For the novelty."

Donna had been more than happy to tend bar during the reception, leaving Ianto to enjoy himself. After all, she really didn't know what else to do by way of wedding gifts. And she'd never been very good at mingling in the traditional sense, so it was kind of nice to just be able to stand around and wait for people to come to her - which they would, because she had dominion over the alcohol.

After a dismal attempt at flipping a glass over her shoulder (she hadn't broken anything, but now her trousers smelled slightly of whiskey), she'd given up on the fancy stuff. So she just waited behind the bar and watched Ianto and his new bride. They looked happy. She couldn't help but being a little envious, but she pushed that back because she was the bartender and really shouldn't start doing shots herself.

"Oh, is this the bar?" I asked, then winced. Today I was Captain Obvious, it seemed. Oh, well. "Could I have a mango juice, please?"

"Sure, sweetheart," Donna said cheerfully, pulling out a carafe from behind the bar, then added conversationally, "Are you friends with the bride or groom?"

"The bride," I said, smiling. "Though I know some of the friends of the groom as well. Charlie and I work together at the preschool, and we help at the Children's Office."

Chase still hated that things were a slight bit awkward between him and the Doctor. It made for issues, but nothing that he wasn't prepared to repress. He had Nate with him in his arms and was generally quieter than usual through the ceremony and the reception, keeping to himself with only a smile for when people seemed to be looking at him.

It wasn't that he was being unpleasant. He just preferred not to be forced into a confrontation, even if only a polite 'and how are you?'

The Doctor knew better than to tell Chase to smile. Frankly, at the moment he didn't feel he quite had the right. Instead, he simply came up after a little while and exchanged a piece of cake and a fork for Nate, even as Nate tried to grab at the brightly coloured frosting.

Chase slightly juggling to make sure Nate was supported as he traded him off, giving the Doctor a smile and a nod at the cake. He'd been back at the Treehouse about three times a week now, though only for sleeping and breakfast. It was slight progress. That was what he was keeping to. "Thanks," he managed. "You did well up there."

"Not a problem." This was becoming slowly but steadily intolerable, but the Doctor was not going to get into it at Ianto and Charlie's wedding. "Not much to to do, though. Mostly stand about and make sure things move properly. I was good, I behaved," he offered, with a slight smile. "I haven't even broken out the Tom Jones on the karaoke."

Logan wasn't a fan of being a guest of a guest at weddings. Actually, if he was honest, he wasn't a fan of weddings in general. Hell, he'd only managed to attend one out of two of his own so far, so attending someone else's was a fairly big deal. ...Still, Jack had asked him to be his plus one, and Ianto and Charlie were good people, nice people, and they seemed to genuinely want to spent the rest of their island bound lives together.

So Logan had pulled his suit out of the dresser, making an effort to look slightly more presentable than usual and remaining on his best behavior as he kept quietly at Jack's side.

As the event rolled on, Logan relaxed more and more, and while he still had his issues with marriage, he had to admit, Charlie and Ianto made a good pair. They worked, and Logan let the barest hit of a smile curve his lips as he watched them for a moment and then glanced away.

When Logan looked away from Ianto and Charlie, Jack was right there.

"Hey," he purred. "You bored yet?"

"No," Logan replied honestly, stepping a little closer as he wrapped his arms loosely around himself. "It's been nice. I'm glad you asked me to come. Thanks, Jack," he said quietly, leaning in and giving the other man a quick peck on the cheek.

His arm wrapped around Logan instantly. He had no use for subtlety and didn't care, for once, about who saw or who knew. It seemed as if his relationship with Logan was the worst kept secret ever.

"I'm glad you said yes," he replied. "You want to dance? Make a spectacle of ourselves? I think that's what best men are expected to do."

Lloyd stood up after Jack had finished his toast, figuring it was his turn. He didn't climb the table like Mr. Best Man had, because he was pretty sure the Maid of Honor was supposed better-behaved than that, and because he didn't want to knock any drinks over by accident.

Happy as he was for those two, he couldn't help feeling kind of awkward. He didn't mind talking in front of a crowd, but speeches weren't his thing, not by a long shot. Usually he needed to be halfway to passed-out to get going, but he figured he owed it to Charlie and Ianto to try and do it sober.

Well, here goes nothing."So I guess I should say something, too." He looked at Charlie, waiting for the murmurs around him to quiet down. "First I got to thank Charlie for not making me shave my legs and wear a dress for this gig, 'cause that could've been kind of weird." He kept a serious face on, but made sure to pause before he actually got serious. "Charlie, you're a sweetheart. I know you've been through a lot, and that you've been hurt -- but you and your Welshie ( ... )

"Lloyd!" Harry said, waving as he approached. "Not exactly Abraham Lincoln there, but not bad considering you pulled that outta thin air."

Good to see another (reasonably) familiar face round here; the groom's friends were all unknown to him. As long as there was somebody to prop him up at the end of the night.

"If you're done with your speechifying, how about you and me go to the bar and get well and truly trashed?"

"Hey, Harry!" Lloyd called back, glad to see the guy had gotten over his cartoonish misery. The compliment got a big grin out of him -- he hadn't been going for Old Abe or Founding Father caliber with his toast, so all in all, he was pretty pleased with how it'd turned out.

"You askin' me out?" he wondered, trying to keep an innocent expression on but edging closer to a sly smile. "It's real flatterin' and all, but you might have to fight Mr. Best Man there for the honor. Weddings are rough business." He scanned the crowd and finally spotted Jack talking to some surfer-looking kid. Luke, Logan or something like that? The two of them were acting more than just chummy, but Lloyd had forgotten to be surprised by that a while back. "Nah, fuck it, guy's cheating on me. Let's go."

"Ah, you can never trust the good-looking ones," Harry said, glancing over in the direction of the fella Lloyd had indicated, who looked like something out of a Saturday matinee adventure movie. He tried to edge his way through the crowd and on reaching the bar, clung to it like it might run away from him.

"What's your poison? I'm in the mood for something a bit stronger than a milkshake this time round." Harry grinned sheepishly. "Sorry about all of that last week, by the way. Wasn't quite myself... goddamn island playing tricks and all that."
