Pullo watched Yuffie knock the disc back and forth across the table. His big hulking shape was hard to miss, and he was sure Yuffie'd seen him, just she was taking care to concentrate on...whatever she was doing.

He unsheathed the knife at his belt, and with one swift movement stabbed the offending disc. He brought his arm up, disc impaled. "Ha! Got it in one."

"That's cheating," Yuffie informed him, with just a tad more patience than usual. Mostly because now she could have someone to play against her. "There's no stabbing in air hockey."

"Caught it, didn't I?" Pullo said, almost at a pout for being accused of cheating. He plucked the disc from his knife, turning it between his fingers.

"Yeah, but do you win a race by bashing out the other person's knees?"

Well, she might. So it was probably a moot question, but what was the likelihood he'd know that?

She had seen the device in Gold Saucer, but they had never stopped long enough for Aeris to get a proper explanation of it. She was in the Compound again--deeper than before. It was...an uneasy prospect, but there had been no one even vaguely suspicious so far. This place was no more dangerous than the sky had been. The sky Cloud had promised he would take her through one day.

She gave a light smile, knotting her hands behind her back, and watched Yuffie demonstrate the process of the game. It seemed very difficult and involved, but many of Gold Saucer's games had been, as well.

"Is that as fun as training?"

"I haven't come to a decision yet," Yuffie answered, not looking very surprised at Aeris's appearance, despite her involvement in the game. "It's not very hard, but not all things that are fun gotta be hard. That's just the ninja in me."

"Perhaps you should put down another disk and make it harder, then?" She was assuming, of course, that the number might increase the difficulty. It seemed like it might take more concentration, at least.

"Um, I don't think it works that way," Yuffie said, mindful that early death would prevent Aeris from knowing the rules of air hockey. "Take up one of the paddles, though, and you can play me. I'll even go easy on you!"

"What are you doing?" Cloud asked, frowning. He decided he should really stop visiting the Compound. Stuff kept happening when he did, like Aeris being in some old man's body or Yuffie leaping about like...well, like Yuffie.

He considered the air hockey table and the empty spot across from Yuffie. He considered the untouched mallet. Then he considered walking right back out again.

"Playing air hockey," Yuffie said. It seemed pretty obvious but she knew asking obvious questions was a hobby of Cloud's. "By myself, because I have no one to play with..."

She did her damnedest to look innocent and appealing. Not that she was GOOD at it...

Hiro had to eat and that meant going to the compound. He also really enjoyed exploring the island. There were all sorts of interesting people to meet. Or at least the ones he recognized. He still found himself trying not to interfere with the space-time continuum even though it seemed pointless if he accepted what he'd been told was his current predicament. He liked to believe his powers were just temporarily on the fritz.

"Oh," he spoke in awe when he came upon Yuffie playing herself at air hockey. It was something he could have attempted if his powers weren't on the fritz. "You have good skills," he observed.

"Of course I do, I'm only the greatest ninja in the world," Yuffie started, and then turned around. "Wait. Hiro. Hiro!" It took her a second to connect Charlie's sadness with the guy in front of her, but it was Hiro. And he was her student, whether he knew it or not, so she ran and jumped on him.

He'd better catch her.

"Ninja?" While he was still reacting to meeting a ninja, The Greatest Ninja in the World no less, he suddenly found himself being charged by her.

Hiro was not the most graceful or responsive person when it came to reflexes, an unfortunate side effect to having the ability to stop time. Luckily, Yuffie was both light and agile. It really only left him to catch. Which he did. Perhaps not as gracefully as he would have liked, but mission accomplished.

"Hello," he nodded to her. They were now awkwardly close.

"Did you forget me while you were gone? That hurts me, that you'd forget your one and only sensei," Yuffie said, making him hold her for a little longer before she jumped to the floor.
