"That's a good look for you, Sam," she said, leaning against the doorframe as if she'd always been there. Her face reflected in the mirror, she let her slips slide into a teasing smirk. Just a faint one. No need to over do it, he was like a hair trigger these days.

Sam went somehow even colder when he heard her voice. Before, it had just been him that he worried about, but now it was Jess and family on the Island and he turned to give her an up-and-down look, barely acknowledging her. "Jealous you didn't do it?"

"You know me so well," she cocked her head with a sweet smile and an almost dreamy expression. His coldness didn't seem to effect her at all. If anything, it egged her on. "Next time you get your face pummeled, give a girl a heads up. I'll give you an audience."

He just rolled his eyes, trying not to touch his nose while exchanging insults, since that probably lessened the effect it had. "What do you want?" he asked, patiently as he always was with her. "I mean, besides rubbing my pain in?"

Angua came up to Sam and stood next to him, her back to the mirror. Taking his chin in hand she tilted his face toward her to get a better look at that nose.

"Goodness, your girlfriend shows up and she's already beating on you," she said, a small smile playing at her lips.

"I'll file for witness protection plan in the morning," he deadpanned. "I hear they'll make me look like Ray Kowalski." It was tired, pleased, and relieved all at once to be joking, but he did pull his chin away from the inspection. He wasn't on show or anything.

Angua laughed, that was a good one.

She let her hand fall back to her side and rolled her eyes. "Oh, don't look like that. I was just worried after I heard you'd had your nose broken."

"Dean told you, huh?" Sam couldn't help a rueful smile, wondering just how far and wide his brother had gone to tell everyone about the new development. "I sort of figured we'd be telling people, I just didn't know we'd also include the whole 'and Sam's nose is broken too' in the deal."
