you get mistaken for strangers by your own friends

The waking up and being some woman thing was fun for about five minutes, Nick decided. Five minutes combined over the past several days. It wasn't so much the woman part, it was more the fact that whoever he was in, she was... Unique. That was a nice way to put it, at least. He felt like there was a whole world of knowledge, spanning time and ( Read more... )

She's managed to stay relatively dent-free. This is a courtesy considering she's been doing a lot of things like jumping off things and onto others, crouching and exploring and she's certain she just caught a rabbit only to let it go again.

Oh this is all so thrilling. It's really just another game.

She's a bit muddy and this body's blonde hair is a mess, but eh, c'est la vie. What she really wants is some food as she scurries into the kitchen sliding across the floor and checking behind her to see if she's left tracks.

"Hello," she greets, something of a grin on her face. "Don't tell anyone."

Nick glanced up -- the person was unfamiliar, but damn, today, for all he knew, it could be Grissom or Cath or someone stuck in there. "I didn't see anything, darling," Nick said with an easy smile. He didn't quite know why he said it, and figured it was just the body saying what it wanted. She seemed to do that a lot.

"Atta boy."

She opens the fridge and stucks a hand in, grabbing for the first thing she can find. Pickiness is not particularly in vogue these days. At least not when it comes to eating.

Pulling out a cold slice of pie, she ables backwards bumping into the counter. "Whups."

"Careful there," Nick said, watching the young man carefully as he wobbles and hits the counter. "I can only pretend I've not seen a certain number of messes." Pie splattered across the kitchen floor might be a little hard to explain away.

Ash is still feeling the effects of losing Stacie and he's a bit more downtrodden and going through cigarettes quicker than before. He's not burning through them, mind, but still, it's not exactly pretty. He's more than grateful when he finds her, though, leaning on the doorframe as he studies her. "Not seen you about, love," he offers, a mumble of words around the cigarette.

Nick looked up from the glass of juice he sipped slowly from. Didn't know this guy, either, but apparently he knew this woman. Nick wasn't interested in another repeat of what had happened with Warrick--that was mortifying enough, thank you very much, for a whole lifetime.

"Not actually her, sorry there," he said after setting the glass back down on the counter, dabbing lightly at his lips with a napkin.

Now this is a whole new experience for a grifter. He plays the roles, but he never gets lifted right out of his body. "Who're you, then?" is the next important question because the information is the key with these sorts of things.

He paused for a moment, tongue darting out to lick nervously at his lips. He felt like he shouldn't tell, that he should be a mystery and an enigma and just keep people guessing. "My name's Nick," he said with some effort. "I don't usually wake up in other people's bodies. So I'm not really ... her." There was a name, in his head, floating around somewhere, something bigger than the Lacey that Warrick knew. Nick had the distinct feeling that names were something very fleeting and ever-changing for this woman. "I'd like mine back, really."

Grissom had spent most of the day climbing and jumping and balancing and doing all the things he hadn't been able to do as a young man simply because he hadn't had the athletic ability inherent to this girl. It was, in a word, cool.

Thirsty, hungry, and tired-- not to mention intensely grateful to not have to read COSMO GIRL-- he burst into the kitchen, and tried not to snicker at the lady who apparently had a stick up her ass and liked it.

Nick looked up from his plate of food when he heard a whole ruckus in the doorway. It was some girl that he didn't recognize, so he just nodded politely at her as he reached out for his mug of coffee. His eyes tracked the girl as she moved. If she wanted help, he imagined she'd ask for it.
