We will take that first step, and we won't touch the ground.

The day was clear and cool, at least by island standards and perhaps that was for the best given what passed what wedding finery in the eyes of one member of the wedding party. The breeze stirred the red leaves of the heart tree and if Sansa could never see much approval in the carved face - so solemn, then perhaps the whispers of the leaves could be taken as a good omen. Not that she needed good omens on a day such as this. Since the early morn when she had been awake and waiting for the moments to pass, wanting to put on her dress but knowing she should wait 'til Eddara is fed - this day had not been at all like another that she was determined to put from her mind entirely. And she had - how could she not preparing for her wedding with the help of her goodsister and very best friend, knowing her father would give her into Caspian's protection, that her brother would speak the words that would make her Caspian's wife and that her mother had given her blessing even if she were no longer here, something Sansa refused to dwell on. Her mother would have wanted her to be happy and Sansa was. Sansa supposed that even Arya was probably happy about the wedding because by the end of the day Sansa would live in Caspian's house.

But once before the heart tree she has eyes only for her husband to be and it seems no time at all before she has to hand her flowers to Susan because her father is unclasping the wolf cloak, (that Susan lent her.) And if Caspian sweeps his cloak of protection over her shoulders exactly how she had dreamed of a thousand times as a girl, it only feels perfect because she knows he means it. That he loves her and would protect her from anything if she needed it.

The words Sansa has known almost since she could talk sound just right when uttered by Robb - even if they have changed slightly because the old gods are not the only ones to swear by. Sansa will swear by Aslan gladly, lion or not, if it gets her married to Caspian and so she does as they come to the last vow and kiss. Caspian has placed the ring (which even she will say Edmund did a good job of holding on to until it was needed) on her finger and perhaps because she found it he has added to it with tiny pearls either side of the carnelian. They go well with the necklace he made for their betrothal and the hairnet he fixed so it was something pleasant, both of which she is of course wearing.

Sansa meets Caspian's eyes and as happy as she is, she speaks solemnly, because it is a vow. "With this kiss I pledge my love, and take you for my lord and husband." She can smile after though in anticipation of his pledge and the declaration.

"With this kiss I pledge my love," Caspian replied taking her hands in his, "and take you for my lady and wife." Then his lips touch hers and they share a sweet and proper kiss that is interrupted when Eddara breaks free of her uncle Moril to cling to Caspian's leg. "Dada," she said clearly, "mine."

When Robb says the words that make them wed at last. Sansa has hold of one of Caspian's hands and he holds Eddara in is other arm, resting against his chest and waving brightly as Robb speaks. "Here in the sight of gods, men and Aslan," he said, "I do solemnly proclaim Caspian of the Royal House of Narnia and Sansa of House Stark to be man and wife, one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever, and cursed be the one who comes between them." Eddara is pleased enough with being picked up that she applauds, clapping her tiny hands together as her parents beam at each other and Robb. Sansa is very grateful that Robb did not laugh - she's very sure he wanted too.

And then everyone gathers at Summerfell. there is food, roast meat and smoked meat and prepared fruit and cakes and pastries (Sansa is good at cakes and pastries, even if her other culinary skills need work and of course she had help.) There is drink - Island cider, Narnian beer, and Westerosi wine, and of course there is music, Bran playing the harp.

[ooc: Hey look a wedding! If your pup knows Sansa, or Caspian, or the Starks or the Narnians or are on the DT crew consider themselves invited. Open all weekend!]
