From what he knew he shouldn't be hearing a phone ring, so it got his attention. He followed it until it stopped and after a bit of investigating he managed to find the room it came from. He saw the girl reading something on the cellphone then the phone drop to the floor. He couldn't see the message, and had no interest in trying really.
"Do you need some help?" He knew she wasn't okay, that was clear from the look on her face. He thought, as he made his way over to her, that he could almost hear someone laughing about his need to rescue the damsel in distress.
Lucky thing she'd gotten less paranoid over the months and stopped carrying it. That went for Miho's sword, too, though she sure as hell was gonna carry that stuff now.
"I'm fine," she said, picking up the phone and closing it.
"If you say so." He shrugged sitting in a nearby chair. He had noticed she was jumpy, and he had also noticed a tension that was somewhat familiar. He wasn't sure what he thought of that, or if he was simply reading into things. He was jumpy, and this place only made him even more cautious.
He knew better than to press. It didn't mean he wasn't curious, but he knew he wasn't going to get information at this point. "I didn't think phones and the like worked here."
"They don't, sugar, that's the point of it bein' so goddamned scary," Becky said, sounding tired. Fucking island, probably thought it was pretty damn funny.
It was the sound that first caught Gunn's attention, mostly because he was pretty damn sure that phones didn't work here. It was the fact that it was Becky's phone that kept his attention, and he hurried over to where it was that she was sitting.
"What's up?" he asked, his expression torn between concern and confusion.
"Not anymore, I won't," said Gunn, reaching to pick up the phone. He didn't look at it, figuring he'd at least wait for some sort of explanation before he got all nosy. Of course, expecting that he might have to get all nosy, he didn't hand it back just yet, either. "Becky, tell me what's wrong."
"When I was at home," she said, in a small, scared voice, "I did a bad thing, baby. And this place here is pretty determined that it ain't gonna let me forget it."
"Becky?" Wesley asked warily, having seen her drop the phone, but not understand precisely why. "Is this yours?" He crouched to pick up the phone and gave her a modicum of privacy by not looking at the message, but he was still quite concerned.
"Yeah," she whispered, suddenly more ashamed of herself than ever with sweet Wesley handing the phone back. "That's mine."
Becky forced herself to look at the screen again, and the message was still there. She'd kinda hoped she was imagining it, but apparently not. "Well, shit."
Wesley's curiosity had been well-riled at this point in time and he held out his palm. "May I see it?" he inquired, knowing that it was quite impolite to not at least ask. "Is it something terrible?"

Either that, or it was trying to warn her.
