Ian sat in the shallows with Jamie in his lap, the water lapping around the wee lad's legs. Isolde would approve, Ian though; the lass had so much of the sea in her, she'd want her firstborn son introduced early. At not quite two months, Teddy was still too small to take into the ocean, but Remus liked to walk with him on the beach on occasion. He was curled against Remus' shoulder, clad in a simple onesie on such a hot day, looking about at everything with wide eyes. "Gorgeous day, isn't it?" he commented, the water lapping over his bare feet and getting the bottoms of his jeans wet.

"Aye, it's bonny," said Ian, with an easy smile, bouncing Jamie and making him laugh. "I woulda mind it if it rained, but I reckon I can deal with th' sun."

The waves lapped around him and Ian flexed his toes in the damp sand and felt utterly content, with his bonny boy and the beautiful day.

All the times that she had sailed away, it had never quite worked out the way she had wanted it too. There was something comforting in the idea of being able to come back and more importantly in wanting to, and that was what she did. She wanted to come back, and so with a smile on her face she waited out of the water, her dress clinging to her knees.

"That tis a sight I enjoy seeing."

"Aye, well, only because ye know if he fills wee nappy, I'll change it."

Ian squinted into the sun, grinning up at her as Jamie squealed and laughed, kicking his feet.

"I've got the full measure of ye, lassie."

Isolde placed her hands on her hips, raising her head up slightly to look at the shoreline behind them and nodded.

"Aye, that would be the truth of it. Give's me a chance to get out of it. A girl canna help but enjoy her escape."

The little boy gurgled at his father, giving his mother a gummy grin.
