It was again that time of year where the island bestowed gifts upon it's residents. And Fiyero got exactly what he had gotten last year

"The cub. From that day in class." Glinda knew what he was talking about. The day at Shiz, with the lessons about Animals. The day Elpahaba's magic had effected everyone but him. The day he'd found out how much Elphaba cared about him...and discovered how he possibly could feel them in return.
Speaking seem to draw him out of his funk and after looking over at Glinda, he moved to kneel next to the cage, making soothing noises. "Shhh..it's alright little one."
The cub just looked up at them without answering, shaking in his fright as he crowded into the far corner of his cage, wailing again pathetically.
Fiyero chewed his lip for a moment, before opening the top of the cage. "Hey there little one...it's alright. Your okay." He glanced over at Glinda, not sure at all what to do. Last time, he just released the cub in a place he knew it would be able to survive. Here? He had no idea.
Catelyn was taking a walk, getting away from the tension and stress (and drumming) of Summerfell, just for a short while. The summer-weight gowns that had appeared at the foot of her bed were quite a useful gift, really--comfortable and proper, all at the same time.
She paused at the entrance to the clearing, frowning at the cage. "I didn't know there were lions here." Her gaze shifted to the man, the frown deepening into one of concern. "Ser? Are you unwell?"
Fiyero blinked as he registered he wasn't alone in the clearing anymore and looked over at her for a moment, before moving to kneel next to the cage, trying to figure out how to sooth the frightened youngster. "I don't believe there was before this moment. This little one is...from my home." From his past, and represented one of the turning points in his life.
"...Ah," Catelyn nodded, understanding immediately the meaning behind the man's words, as anyone would after a fair time on the island. She wasn't sure if she should leave him be with the creature or not, but after a brief hesitation she drew closer, looking at the cub in the cage. "Was it yours at home, then?" she asked, not unkindly.
Shaking his head, Fiyero began to open the cage to see if the cub would let him touch it to try and sooth it. "Not really. He was, well...he shouldn't have belonged to anyone. He should have grown up to be an Animal but from being in the cage, I don't know. He was part of lesson at my school and a friend of mine saved him." Despite the situation, he couldn't help a small fond smile as he remember that day. How could he not? "I set him free in the woods and didn't see him again...untill today"

When she did finally, in the clearing, she saw something she had not expected at all. "Oh Fiyero, is that..."

Glinda slowly dropped down beside Fiyero, not wanting to disturb the cub more. "How did you get here?"
