A tall, brown-haired guy stood just to the left of the bookshelf in the rec room, a look of puzzlement slowly overtaking his face as he stared at the easel kit that seemed to have been mistakenly marked with his name. He fingered the tag for a long moment and shook his head. It wasn't anything like what he'd had at home - it was better, in fact - ( Read more... )

It wasn't often Jim was cross, but, really, Gideon always brought that out of him every time. He had just gone into the kitchen to grab something to eat before he went to find Pam when he nearly bumped right into the other man. He managed to just shoot a glare at him before trying to go about his business.

"Can't you go someplace else?" he muttered as he pushed his hands into his pockets and headed into the rec room. It was all he said - even though Sam was with Tim, he still knew Pam, who he spotted almost immediately, didn't really like him fighting with him.

"Her stuff's pretty good," Gideon said, not really noticing her discomfort, not that that was anything new. He started collecting some of the little stuff. "Not that I know art and shit, but whatever."

Desmond talked to him about art stuff once in a while back home, but Gideon really didn't have much to say about it besides it was nice to look at. Jules was always way fucking better at knowing what to say than he ever was.

Jim actually raised an eyebrow at that, not because he was annoyed, but because for the first time since he'd met Gideon, he actually had said something that hadn't pissed him off.

"Just wondering," he said to Pam, with a slight shrug. "Still trying to think of something to draw on those canvases you got?"

Pam could feel the blush creeping up her neck and settling in her cheeks as she looked down at her lap. She nodded in response to Jim's question.

"Yeah. I can't think of what to do."

Desmond grabbed the canvases after folding up the easel, then tucked them under his arms.

"See you later, Pam. Nice to meet you, Jim." If he'd had any hands free, he would've waved, so he just nodded at them instead.
