Fwoosh! Enter Major Samantha Carter, confused.

Jan 26, 2006 06:40

The Stargate activation alarm blared throughout the base, but Samantha Carter was so used to the sound by now she barely noticed it. She made sure the strap of her P-90 was secure and adjusted her cap, looking over to her companions.

“Ready to go, Carter?” O’Neill was businesslike, as usual. Carter smiled and nodded. Next to her, Teal’c loomed, holding a Goa’uld staff weapon instead of a P-90. He had a look on his face as if he had just eaten something unpleasant. Then again, he looked like that a lot.

“P4X-927 has some absolutely fascinating ruins,” said an excited voice. Carter turned to look at Dr. Daniel Jackson, who was kitted out similar to her, O’Neill and Teal’c, except for the floppy green hat that made him look, in Carter’s opinion, quite silly. Then again, he was the only non-soldier of the group, he could afford to look like that. “From the pictures the MALP took I think they might be ancient Greek or some derivative of the culture; I won’t be sure until we get there and have a look-“

”Daniel!” O’Neill snapped. The archaeologist looked at him, blinking innocently. “Just…wait until we get there, all right? Then you can go crazy. Go to town. Babble on about whatever, I don’t care. Let’s just get to the Gate Room, okay?”

Carter chuckled wryly to herself as she set out first, followed by the others. Making her way through the corridors of the SGC was second nature to her; after nearly four years in the place she knew it like the back of her hand. Therefore when she turned a corner and found herself in a corridor she’d never seen before, she knew something was wrong.

”Colonel, when did we-“ Carter turned back, expecting to find the rest of SG-1 behind her…but they were gone. And there was the unfamiliar corridor stretching away and now Samantha Carter was more confused than ever.

What the hell just happened?

[OOC: Carter has pretty much appeared out of nowhere in the compound, so anyone there can feel free to tag. =D]
