Peter and Gwen had been married for exactly two weeks now. It was strange to think about it, but it wasn't as though Peter was going to forget about it anytime soon. Or ever

The Doctor might kill him if he knew he was there. But he had to check in anyway. And he was of the old-school mindset that he shouldn't just prescribe things on his own ticket. Knocking on the door, Chase wandered inside, uninvited. "Hey, Peter, can I talk to you?" he asked, gently closing the door behind him.
"He gets the choice," Chase said, very determined on that point because ever since last May when the Doctor snuck sedatives into his warm milk, he'd sworn to himself to not do that in return because he didn't want to stoop to that level.
A glance flicked up at Peter, and he was wholly serious. "If he refuses...then yeah, maybe the tea route."
While from a medical standpoint, Peter couldn't condone drugging a person without their consent or awareness, on a personal level he understood why Chase would consider going that route if the Doctor refused. If Gwen needed help with something and medicine was sure to help her, Peter would do the same for her. He was quite sure she would feel the same way if the roles were reversed.
"Do what you have to do," Peter said quickly, and then one corner of his mouth hitched up. "That's obviously friendly advice, not medical."
"Yeah, I figured we sort of left the medical advice behind," Chase agreed with a lopsided smile at that. "I dunno. Do you think I'm freaking out because I'm new at this? That maybe more weathered couples would just ride this out?"
Pressing a palm to his forehead, Peter's head drooped forward slightly as he considered Chase's questions. While Peter had only, truly, honestly been in love twice in his life, he was far from an expert on it. But then, was anyone ever?
Shifting so he could look at Chase, the palm pressing against a cheek now, Peter finally said, "I don't think it matters how weathered a couple is. When you love someone, you worry, no matter if you've been through something ten times already or it's the first time."
"Speaking of..." He hopped onto the nearest counter and starting to study the kava a little more in depth. "How's being married?" He'd ask about the kid, but he was functioning on an ignoring basis, or else he started thinking about other hypothetical conversations about other kids.
Peter knew he probably looked ridiculous but didn't care; he couldn't stop himself from smiling at the question. Absently fiddling with the plain band Kate had forged for him, Peter looked over at Chase, glad for the change in subject. "Better than I thought it would be." A beat, and Peter shook his head, laughing. "I didn't mean that how it sounded. I meant-- it's fantastic. The building crew gave us a great hut. Your wedding gifts look fantastic in there, by the way. Gwen's been rearranging and decorating and it's just...fantastic." Realizing how often he'd said the word, Peter laughed again. "Guess I'm still in the honeymoon phase, huh?"
"You're allowed," Chase promised with a bit of a sympathizing grin. "No one's gonna rush in here and tell you that you can't be ecstatic over being with someone you love." He was glad to hear the gift looked good, even though he had only searched for the books. "The baby's good? I mean, more like are you anxious about being a father?"
