He put together a few things from the kitchen and arrived with a basket of food, because the new family shouldn't be distracted from its celebration by having to run back and forth to the kitchen. They ought to be able to enjoy this time together.
He wasn't going to stay long. "Pardon me, I just came by to bring some food over from the compound, and to congratulate you on the birth of your daughter." Wilson leaned his head in, but did not enter the room. "Best wishes to all of you. I'll leave the basket out here."
More than anything, he did not want to intrude.
