The sun wasn't due to come up for 'bout another hour, and without the dim glow of electricity, jungle seemed even darker than usual. Bill stood in the middle of the clearing, flashlight in his hand, shinin' out over the small crowd gathered outside the Compound doors. There was the faint murmur of hushed voices, few of 'em speakin' up louder than

He'd gotten very little sleep the night before, but he felt awake, hopped up on adrenaline and fear that was threatening to escalate into panic at any moment. Standing at the edge of the small crowd, Chris crossed his arms over his chest and listened to the man he'd only very recently met. Bill Party. Something like that.
After a moment, he took a shaky breath and dropped his arms, the fingers of one hand brushing over the holster on his leg. Somehow that made him relieved and even more anxious at the same time.

"Hope you know how t' use that," Bill said, eyes dartin' down to the gun seated on the fella's hip.

"Not really," he admitted with no little amount of sheepishness that he tried to chase away with a quick flash of a smile. "I was kind of given it the other day." Though, he knows it's only for this and he'll be far too happy to give it back to her when this is all through. If it ever is all through.

"Keep it in the holster. You can't, just try not to shoot anybody in the damn foot, 'r anyplace that don't grow back," Bill said with a ghost of a smile, but right now was all business, "What's your name, fella?"

People disappearing and reappearing in dino territory, again. Bill had shown up on the island in dino territory, and wasn't exactly eager to head there again, but after a full day of doing fuck all he was not about to sit around again today. He'd never been the type to stay away when help was needed.
So there he was, bowie knife at his waist and throwing knife strapped to his bicep as usual, ready to set out with Bill Pardy's rescue group. He'd also taken Sirius' bow and arrows from Remus, as he'd had quite a bit of practise with them and had got rather good, and so the quiver was slung over his shoulders to hang across his back and he gripped the bow in one hand. He was ready.

Preparation was marginal, but the effort had to count. At least he figured it did as he shifted the shovel from hand to hand. In all this crazy, dino and friend-rescuing it was good to know that someone knew what to do. Kind of at least.

Shovel was a helluva lot better than him toting around a firearm he couldn't handle.

"Been using a shovel for a long time now. This'll be a first though."

"Are you going out there?" he asks. "Chris is here too, huh? I'm coming." Just like that. And he's not sure why he's telling Eddie, but he figures he has to tell someone.
