Jeyne had to get out of Summerfell.

She was very happy for Sansa, no question. It wasn't uncommon for mothers or babes to die in childbirth in Westeros, and Sansa's baby had come early, so Jeyne had been a little frightened. She had prayed to the Mother most of the night for Sansa's safe delivery, although part of her thought bitterly that her prayers were very likely useless. The Mother hadn't answered her prayers, after all.

But as happy and relieved as she was for her goodsister, every little cry or whimper or sound from Eddara simply tore Jeyne's heart in two, and she did not think she was doing a very good job of hiding it. Summerfell was not that big with so many people living there, and the energy of keeping up the pretense that she wasn't affected was wearing her out. She would not for all the world have her feelings spoil Sansa's joy, or her family's joy, in any way, and so while most of the Starks were either occupied with the baby or Sansa or catching up on sleep they had missed with the baby's arrival, she slipped off by herself for a while to pull herself together.

Walking and walking until her feet hurt and she needed to rest, she came across a garden of beautiful flowers that seemed to be inhabited by more butterflies than she had ever seen. She found a shady spot and sat, taking deep breaths to try to calm herself.

summary: The birth of Sansa's baby has brought up some conflicting feelings in Jeyne, and she has to get away for a bit. Robb finds her and they talk about what's bothering her and what her real worries are, and they end up talking about whether they even want to have children here or not - the pros and cons of raising children here vs. in Westeros. She meets Lisa Cuddy, and talks with her about her career as a doctor (which is a foreign idea to Jeyne) and how it's different than what women do in Westeros. Finally Catelyn comes by and Jeyne confides in her a little about what's bothering her.
