The island had done it again. Whether it was pure chance or benevolence none of them would ever know, but somehow, someway, the place had seen fit to give them all booze again

Jane was fit in a beautiful dress that she simply could not refuse. It was long and purple, with gold trim and she had even done her hair in curls as she was in such a better mood, now. She circulated amongst the party with a plate full of every food she could possibly crave (including, oh, that dear and sweet chocolate)
She spun to avoid people and smiled warmly, pleased to see such a lovely affair, even if she could not enjoy it wholly.
Chase was a little...okay. Little. See, here was why Chase might have been a little tipsy.
Something had been pink in the kitchen and he'd drank it and now there was a party and he was in a suit and he had a mask and there were beads around his neck from somewhere and he was wandering around with a blue drink now and he was fairly sure that he was going on about something and where was he supposed to get more drinks and did he have to get the drinks for someone else and was he supposed to flash someone for the beads and god he loved the Island, really, really did.
And he'd only had the two. So he couldn't be drunk. No amount of alcohol in two drinks..."Hey, lollipops," he said, grabbing one and grinning around it as he wrapped his lips around the cheery oval shape.
House, on the other hand, hadn't had a single drink by the time he managed to find Chase. He was feeling kind of bah humbug about the party, actually. He was still pissed at the island for Valentine's Day. She would not win back his affections with a little booze.
"We should talk," he said to Chase. Acting like oh no, it wasn't weird that they'd been practically avoiding each other for almost a week.
Chase turned to see House through the veil of his black feathered mask, but god, those words, those words could sober him up stone cold and fast. "Okay?" he asked suspiciously.
Jack had missed one party. Like hell he was going to miss another. He poured himself a glass of champagne and wandered around in a mask he'd gotten for the party, which didn't do much to disguise him since he wasn't wearing a shirt. Just strings and strings of beads.
This had to be one of the best celebrations ever devised.
Sarah Jane smiled as she approached him and peered at the rows upon rows of beads. "Jack," she chastised with a playfully maternal tone. "I think I deserve one of those strands, now that you've flashed me and everyone else in sight."
Sarah Jane tugged him closer by the beads, giving him a dubious look. "Some, Jack, would call you a time-and-space slut," she warned, but kissed him on the lips nonetheless.
Radek had grown to like parties, almost against his better judgement. While he hadn't enjoyed them in years, he couldn't really dislike something that was so intimately connected with free-flowing alcohol. Especially when he was stuck with moonshine the rest of the time. He was against a wall, sipping a glass of vodka that wasn't his first and certainly wouldn't be his last, and enjoying himself. Sort of.
"So I'm thinking if I get you drunk enough you'll do karaoke," Jill said as she approached Radek, looking slightly self conscious in the dress she'd found in the box. It was black, strapless, with a ribbon around the waist and a hem that fell just below her knees and she felt utterly ridiculous in it. But she looked good.
Jill smoothed her hands down over the dress and adjusted the ribbon a little, still looking self conscious. "Well, I figured you'd like it anyway," she said with a grin.
Veronica had never been much for parties in Neptune - not unless Lilly dragged her, and hardly even then. But the longer she stayed on the island, the more she found she liked them. They were different here. Sure, there was free-flowing liquor either way and people made fools of themselves, but on the island, it was... looser. More fun. More relaxed. It was possible to let go without worrying that people were talking. They talked anyway, but no one cared here. Not that she'd ever cared when people talked.
In any case, once she'd understood what was going on, she'd dug through the box and come up with green. Green and gold. The box had a mean sense of humor, but she had to admit it looked good. Wearing a dark green mask to match the dress, she'd put up her hair and headed down to the party.

"Apologize," he finished, his voice so low it was nearly inaudible.
