A book about art is likely to have a painting or two in it and Daisy does have quite the appreciation for the arts. She's an actress, after all. So, it's no surprise to find Daisy by the bookshelf, perusing a book on the shelf ( Read more... )

Fergus was peeling an orange, unraveling the rind in one whole winding piece as he wandered into the rec room to get something to distract him from his thoughts before he went back to his hut for the evening.

"Bonsoir," he greeted, smiling cordially at the blonde young woman in front of the bookcase, nodding his head slightly, before beginning to search the shelves himself, wondering if it would give him anything of interest tonight.

Daisy turns, studying him curiously and smiling charmingly. "Bonsoir, monsieur," she replies, drawling the words and sounding oh-so-southern and not at all French. He reminds her of Peter, but she's seen a lot of similarities and accounts it to being in the family. "And who might you be?"

A dandy, but he cannot blame the lady for her lack of skill in the most beautiful language in the world. Not everyone could be graced in knowing it, and he'll give her props for trying. He turned away from the bookshelf, leaning against it.

"I am Fergus, who are you, madamoiselle?"

"Daisy," she introduces herself, extending her free hand. "Daisy Adair," she adds, charming as ever. With a teasing smile, she clears her throat and manages a pitch-perfect sentence. "C'est un plaisir," she assures.

She had to work in France during World War II. You picked up a thing or two. Letting people know that, however, makes them think she's all serious and smart and that's just inflating their expectations.

Working out in the heat had left Billy hot and sort of tired, so after a shower he was headed for the rec room to see if there was something worth reading today. The work-out got his spirits up though, so he was sort of humming to himself, something distinctly Irish, as he entered the room where the jukebox made him stop because clashing tunes were just too annoying.

He slowed down too because there was an unknown, blonde girl standing by the bookshelf. A good-looking unkown blonde girl at that.

"Hello," he said as he walked over to the shelf too. "I wonder if that thing gets confused if too people look at the same time..." He gave the shelf a sort of suspicious look.

Daisy turns and smiles at the charming and handsome young man and she presses the book to her chest, hiding the picture she's ripped out. "We could always try," she suggests, with a flirtatious edge in her voice. "I've never actually tried."

He looked at her, sensing something in her voice, and smiled teasingly. "Okay." He faced the shelf. "Are you up for a challenge? See what you make of this, then..."

He looked at the girl. "On the count of three we reach for something?"

Daisy suits herself up for the challenge, straightening her posture and easing her shoulders back. "On the count of three," she agrees. "One...two..." she says very slowly, drawing out 'two' for several seconds.

"Is there a problem with this page?" Inigo asks her, looking up from where he sits nearby, polishing his sword. "I think that you do not like what is on this page. Am I right?"

Daisy exhales, giving Inigo a slight look of betrayal, at catching her at such a moment, but she calms herself and collects herself and smiles warmly. "You are very right," she assures him, doing her best to make him feel good. She slides the book back onto the shelf. "It's just a silly painting that I can't stand."

"It must be a very bad painting," said Inigo solemnly, taking her at her word and not questioning her motivation. "I only worry that the bookshelf, it will give it to you again. I was reading this book and I lost it somewhere in the jungle, and when I returned to this bookshelf the next day to find a new book I found this same book again."

Daisy smiles warmly at the thought and care for her and the lack of care for the book. "Well, you're a very sweet man to reassure me," Daisy assures, voice slightly quieter. "And what are you looking for today?"
