Should auld acquaintance be forgot... [Mirror 2]
If you had been upstairs in the compound at six in the evening of December 31, you might have thought your eyes were playing tricks on you, or that you'd once again been whisked off to some strange, newplace. Within the blink of an eye, the rooms had changed, sparkling instantly with festive decorations, and it was all so instantaneous that it seemed almost as though they might have been there all along. In the kitchen, the tables and counters were filled with food and drink heretofore unheard of on the island, all the trappings of a perfect New Year's party. Even the jukebox in the rec room had changed, and was currently happily playing in the form of a karaoke machine, complete with microphone and multi-lingual screen.
It seemed that for once, the island's tricks would be happily received by most everyone.
