It's a whole different world
So long ago... It has been nearly twelve weeks but I am finally allowed out on my own during the day. They showed me the room I'll be staying in at night. It's on the same floor as the office where I speak to Agent Starling when I have my appointments.
It's my own room again, so that I won't be bothering anyone at night. No one to hear my nightmares or care if I turn on the light to read or work on something quiet during those hours when I should be sleeping but can't.
And I'd heard it over and over again how things had changed out but now I can see it for myself. No more working outside in the garden for me and I wonder about working on anything much at all. I'll go looking soon on the other side of the island for a place to stay but I haven't the skill to build anything that will keep me safe in weather like this. I'd have to return to the caves.
Actually, I have to go anyway. I am going to get my pack with a few things in it. I've books, yes, the ones that Chris and Agent Starling got for me. But now that I'm not in the same room with Voldemort I can finish the book I was reading--Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was so long ago and I was almost finished but I remember what was happening. How could I forget? Sirius... I know it has to happen soon. I'll finish that and read the sixth book. I'll get my cloak and the other one. Yes, the clothes box is giving warmer things but that cloak was made by the Elves and is a beautiful, warm thing. I know someone who could use it. Boromir isn't going to come back.
I'll just... take the things I need and leave again.
I've found a few new, warm things for myself but I choose to wear my own clothes today. One of the flashlights will let me go through the caves until I have my cloak and then I'll walk outside back. The only thing I'm not wearing is my sword, which is in my new room along with the Horn of Gondor. I don't need it. I can leave a message so that Connor knows to come for his bow. I'll leave mine in the caves for now. When I get back, I'm just going to go walking outside. It's so different out now.
Open to anyone. He'll be carrying his pack on the way out of the caves, as well as the bow for Connor and an extra cloak. Encounter him then or on his walk later--tell him Connor is gone.
