The clinic area was set up a bit differently this morning, with some of the chairs from the rec room (I would put them back later, of course) arranged in sort of a semicircle. There was also a light breakfast of toast, muffins, various kinds of fruit, juice, and milk set up along one of the counters ( Read more... )

Jenny still didn't really feel pregnant. Even the weird smells that had bothered her before were gone, so it was very easy for her to fool herself into thinking she wasn't, not really. So she had almost decided not to go to the meeting she'd seen on the notice board.

She did end up going. She should have asked Forrest to go with her, but she didn't. Not this time. Maybe next time. It was still kind of hard for her to talk about the baby with him, since it was hard for him to understand how it had happened. So she went by herself, and kept to herself for a bit, swiping an orange from the counter as she hung off to the side.

The orange turned out to be really good. She didn't remember oranges being this good before... maybe she'd help herself to another if she managed not to get juice everywhere.

Sansa had worried about attending the clinic today but she'd never actually thought she wouldn't come. She'd felt much a little better since she'd spoken to Claire on Sunday and if there were going to be people there she knew but hadn't told yet? Well they were going to find out eventually, it was something that would be obvious in time.

She had not liked the idea of going on her own but liked the idea of asking to be accompanied even less. It was foolish for none of her family were like to forget her condition but she did not like to draw attention to it if she could avoid it. Nerves had stolen her appetite even after drinking ginger tea but as she wasn't actually nauseous she took a piece of toast, a small orange and a glass of milk. She took a seat, (the chairs in a semi circle meant she couldn't even hide at the back) and picked at the food, keeping her eyes carefully on the plate.

Lyanna was pleased to find her niece already seated next to the dark-haired woman when she slipped into the clinic, eyes wide open and clearly curious to hear the advice lady Frasier had to offer. "There you are," she beamed. At once she took a seat on the other side of the Tully-haired girl and pressed an encouraging hand to her shoulder. "You are resourceful woman, Sansa. I knew I would find you here."

Personally she thought the clinic to be a wonderful idea. Having experienced her nine months of motherhood in the stifling confines of a humid, claustrophobic tower, Lyanna felt the need to be supportive. It'd been quite an overwhelming ordeal and for the harder parts she'd been been very much alone. That last thing she wanted was for Sansa to have to deal with similar discomforts.

"Lyanna," said Sansa startled, of all her family Sansa had been least afraid to tell Lyanna of her predicament, not least because it should not have been sucha a shock to her aunt who had known how Sansa had felt and behaved with Kialan. She hadn't been able to ask Lyanna to accompany her though, even if she had not been loath to draw attention to herself at the moment. It simply didn't seem fair to Sansa to ask her aunt to spend time with pregnant ladies. Her aunt did not seem phased by much, but even so Sansa had thought that a lot to ask considering.

Still Lyanna is here now and Sansa is truly grateful, "I meant to learn what I can," she said attempting to sound determined.

Lyanna's life before the island felt a world apart; her memories of the tower were fractured and distorted. Claire Fraser had been the first maester -- well, doctor -- to tend to her birthing wounds when she'd washed up on the shore. As such, it was indeed fairly strange to be seated before lady Fraser alive, trim-figured, and well amidst the swollen bellies and ankles.

Strange, but not unpleasant. "So do I," said with a warm smile. Lyanna nodded towards Claire. "The lady knows her trade well. Let me tell you, I would have rather had her in the tower than that foul hag of a midwife," the last word spoken with utter contempt.

Pam was honestly nervous about going to this meeting in the clinic. She was just glad Jim had agreed to go with her. They weren't even sure if she was actually pregnant or not, but.. they were trying, so it made sense to go.

When they walked in, Jim immediately made a beeline for the small breakfast spread and she followed him hesitantly.

"Oooh, toast." She could handle toast.

To be honest, Jim did feel a little awkward in what seemed like a more or less room full of girls. He was comforted by the fact he could at least stuff his face. It helped.

"What do you want?" he asked, moving to make her plate for her first.

"Um. Toast?" she suggested, not entirely sure if she could handle anything else just yet. "Oh, and tea." She reached into her pocket and pulled out the small jar of ginger.

"Toast and tea it is," he said, putting two slices of the bread onto her plate and moving to pour her drink. "Want anything on the toast?"

Padme wondered if she was the farthest along on the island as she steeled herself to walk into the room. Jay was not far behind her, but for now....

She bit her lip, and took a deep breath. She definately looked on edge, but she could do this. She mentally kept repeating that this place was just a room - but the chairs and food and things helped quite a bit. She moved to the table, and nabbed a piece of toast before looking for a chair she would hopefully be able to get out of - but if nothing else, she could probably ask someone for assistance.

Her eyes widened when she saw the other people here - Jim and Pam? and... Sansa. Oh, goodness- she had a feeling that things are going to be very hard for her in the coming months. She cleared her throat, and her voice still sounded awful when she spoke. "Hello, everyone."

Sansa glanced up from her uneaten food when Padme greeted the room, she'd known really of course that Padme might be here. She was one of the few expectant mothers on the island Sansa knew about. That did not help with the wave of shame Sansa felt at seeing someone she knew, (and worse who knew her family.) Just because Sansa feels ashamed though is no call to be rude, so she manages to return the greeting in a teeny tiny voice.

"Hello Padme." All the while wanting to hide under her chair and suppress the curiosity at what it must feel like to be that pregnant.

Padme had sat down, and considering how unlikely she was to stand back up, she scooted just a tad to move closer to Sansa. "Hello, Sansa." She nodded to the empty chair on the other side of her, and smiled. "Would you like to sit by me?"

Her brain was moving at what seemed like a hundred miles an hour - using that bit of herself that made her catalouge everyone's name, and so her boyfriend- ... Kielan? No. Kialan. But... he wasn't here. Although he could have been detained...

"How're you feeling?"

Sansa moved to the seat that Padme indicated, it would be nice to sit with someone even if she'd come on her own. "Thank you," she said. At least Padme didn't seem inclined to point out what a disgrace Sansa was.

She wanted to say a polite lie to the next question but it seemed pointless, she couldn't say she was fine, she'd not be here if that were the case. She considers her response leaving a lengthy silence which makes her feel more awkward. "I'm still being quite sick but Dr. Claire's tea has helped," she said finally, there being honest wasn't so hard now was it.

Bridget had shown up alone that morning by choice, not because she didn't have anyone who would have gone with her. She'd only mentioned it in passing to O-Ren, and she hadn't so much as seen Tim since she'd moved to the compound.

She made her way to the refreshment table and helped herself to a muffin or two.

[ooc: She's 25 weeks pregnant and very much showing.]
