The first thing that Anamaria did upon waking, even before divesting herself of the insanely frilly and horrible yellow gown she was wearing, was try to find some rum. If she drank long enough and hard enough, she reasoned, she could conceivably forget everything that had occurred over the weekend. And if she was very, very lucky, the drinking ( Read more... )

There was something about the woman in the pretty-garments that seemed terribly out of place. Faris swore she'd seen the woman around before, and upon closer inspection, recognized her as another JAck's (likely crazy) acquaintances.

"Tryin' ta make a statement? Or is everythin' else just in the wash?" Faris asked with a smirk

Anamaria whirled, got caught in the skirts, stumbled and swore fit to peel paint from the walls and bleach them besides. As she regained her balance (and how had she managed all weekend when she'd never worn this sort of get up anyway?) she glared at the source of the voice. "Bloody island and its bloody magic."

She narrowed her eyes, assessing the way the other woman stood, the roll of words off her tongue and came up with a solid theory. "You wouldn't have a nip of rum there for a fellow sailor, would you?

Let it never be said that Faris Scherwiz didn't share her booze. Smiling still, she reached beneath her coat and withdrew her hipflask. "Ain't much, but yer welcome to it."

"Much obliged to you. I'll see that Jack replaces it for you or I'll know why." She took a bracing swallow and handed it back, "Bloody awful weekend."

The island, it seemed, had gotten bored of its latest trick and everyone felt like shit for it. Therefore, Sirius took advantage of everyone's misery and kept a crooked smile about his face just to spite. He wondered where Tonks was, but figured he'd probably run into her sooner or later. Yeah, good, other people were fucked and, for once, he wasn't. He actually felt like shooting his bow that day and decided that the compound made a good target so that was where he was when Anamaria came about.

"Nice dress," he greeted, loading an arrow to his bow. So what if the arrow would just bounce off the building?

"Aye, it's yours then and I wish you much joy of it," she snapped back at him. "I would kill for a dram of grog right now. I take it from your disgusting cheer that you escape bloody mischief of this bleeding island?"

"Fuck off, not wearing a dress," he said cheerily, but pointed his bow towards the ground. "As a matter of fact, yes it is, and you have to be nice to me if you want a spot of rum from my pocket." He hadn't forgotten about trying to find spices. Of course, he'd found absolutely nothing, but he could still mix what was available.

Rum. He had rum. She'd be sweet as she'd been the day before if that's what it took, nevermind how it rankled, "Aye then, I'll be nice. Have pity on a poor pirate who's spent the last few days out of her mind."

Jack watches her for a moment, absently, tipping back his bottle of rum. Pretending to be honourable had been an amusing enough pasttime, but he hasn't quite decided yet if he's ready to be done with it.

"Come to your senses, Anamaria?"

"Rum!" she exclaimed, ignoring his question entirely. She hurried over to him, tripping on the long skirts as she did so until she yanked them up to her knees. "Give me that and not a word out of you, Jack Sparrow."

Jack manages his Honourable Face a little while longer, though he can't help looking slightly askance--and amused--at the way she grabs for the bottle. "Anything for a lady, I'm sure," he drawls, surreptitiously checking her over for weaponry.

She's entirely unarmed unless you count the pins holding her hair in its complicated arrangement of loops and curls. Considering it's Anamaria, counting them might indeed be a good idea. "Ha ha, Jack, very funny." She drains off half his rum in a long series of swallows, gasping for air as she's done.
