Will had spent most of the weekend blissfully ignorant of the island's insanity. He rarely paid any attention to anyone not on the Pearl, and recently, his interaction with people that were not his new bride had become even more limited. But Jack had said that Anamaria wanted to speak to him, some urgent matter he wouldn't go into detail on, ( Read more... )

Anamaria was singing to herself as she sat on the grass in front of the compound. The clothing bin had given her a beautiful gown in pale gold with large damask roses overlayed on it and she'd taken great care when sitting down for it not to get soiled. It spread around her like a pool of sunshine against the cool green.

Though she was still, her hands were not. A basket of carefully selected blooms rested next to her and she was busily threading them into lovely flower crowns, one of which already rested on her head. She would give one to Veronica and one to Ro. And perhaps she could even find Miss Swann...no, Mrs Turner now...and give her one as well for she'd always admired the young woman so.

Will's determined stride faltered as he spotted her. It looked like Anamaria, but there were at least two other men who looked like him and yet weren't, and the clothing and the...was she making wreaths of flowers?

He approached slowly, cautiously. "Good afternoon, miss."

Anamaria looked up, recognizing William with ease. "Mr. Turner," she exclaimed, laughing and climbed to her feet, spilling flowers everywhere as she did so. She crossed the grass to him, dropping into a proper curtsey in front of him then taking his hands in hers. She remembered that before she'd been just awful to him and she felt horribly guilty for it. "Oh William, can you ever forgive me for the way I treated you before? I was so rude and you so kind."

...Okay, definitely not Anamaria. "...I beg your pardon, do I know you?" he inquired, looking completely baffled.

From the moment he'd woken up the previous morning and discovered Anamaria raving on about repenting and the Lord, and setting rum on fire, Jack Sparrow had realised there was something very strange going on.

By half a day in, he'd realised what it was. The symptom, at least, if not the cause.

And by a few hours after that, he'd decided to play along.

"William!" he says, marching toward his young first mate.

Will turns and smiles fondly as he lays eyes on his captain. "Jack, hello. Have you found Anamaria?"

"Last I saw her," Jack says, "she wanted to be escorted to the church. After she'd found something proper to wear to it."

Some of this stuff he doesn't even HAVE to make up.

Will stares. "...You're joking," he says flatly after a minute of processing this information silently. It's the only possible explanation.
