Last week, a company wide memo was sent out consoling employees of the company over the death of Steve Irwin. I'm not kidding. If only I was better at co-opting other people's pain, I could've taken some leave.

That's a little extreme. I mean... I know he had a huge strange following (I always found his dealings with wildlife a bit too akin to abuse, myself) but to send out a memo? I was sad, I'll admit it. But I've been pretty emotional all week. Example: I cried a little just *remembering* the movie Babe. Not watching it... remembering it. Maybe I should take a day off to grieve and go to the movies in honor of me becoming my grandmother.

I was not saddened at all by the Crocodile Hunter's death. I mean, the guy risked his life EVERY DAY prodding dangerous animals. Sure, death is always tragic. But it's not a tragedy. The dude was KIND OF asking for it.
