Amazing! Loved it! I was excited to read something from this prompt. I liked the format...I just get all tingly when there's creatively divided parts of the story. And I'm definitely a sucker for Hufflepuff Albus and Ravenclaw-Slytherin (in one of the houses but with traits of the other as well) Scorpius. So....basically...it was incredible.

Thanks so much for such wonderful comments.

I'll admit to struggling (right to the end) with the best way to present this story, so I'm glad it worked for you.

Squeeeeeee!!!!!!!!I have been waiting onpins and needles for this and it was even better than I imagined! I had an idea of what I wanted and you managed to surpass it. I loved this being in first person and Albus sharing all of his indecure, but often very amusing thoughts. I really liked the idea of Albus sharing how insecure and inadequate he feels in each one of the major relationships in his life. I felt sorry for him, yet I still chuckled or laughed out loud all through this. It was frustrating that it was so obvious that Albus had feelings for Scorpius, but he was clueless for so long. I laughed out loud when after all of the wanting to knock sense into him, he decides "Being gay is hard to admit, even to myself." It's about time! lol Draco and Harry were both wonderful in this! I love how even thought they still aren't really friends, Draco has grown enough to realize and admit to Albus that Harry really is a good person. That whole scene was so touching with Albus being intimidated by Draco and Draco being so kind and ( ... )

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY! So glad you enjoyed it.

First person present tense is definitely a change for me, but as I struggled with how best to present the story, my muse insisted that this would work.

Draco is made of awesome in this one, isn't he? ;)

I'm glad that the emotions (good and bad) came through for you, and that the humour kept it light. I really enjoyed writing for this prompt. :)

Thanks so much for the v-gift and the sweet message that came with it.

I often hate first-person but you made it seem so effortless. I loved your Albus and your take on his parents' generation. I think a lot of next gen fic gets awkward when the parents are incorporated or they just skip over them completey. I really loved the nods to their younger personalities and how simplified Albus made things. Draco was lovely without oversharing and revealing the crappier thing Harry did. I always think of James being quite like his namesake so I'm tickled that you wrote him that way. I have a weakness for scheming friends/family tropes. It felt true to canon and never got too angsty, both thing I really appreciate. In other words it felt like this was written for me! I very much enjoyed it. I definitely could have read 8,000 words more in this 'verse.

Heh. First person present tense is definitely a change for me, but as I struggled with the story, my muse insisted it would best be told that way. I'm so relieved that it worked.

Aw, thanks. :) I nearly wrote 8K more as I formulated the story! I had to pull back and not tell the 7-year-long version.

By the way, I love your icon. *g*

I believe this is the first fic where I have read Albus growing concerned about coming out because of the media press. It is a fine point, because indeed, the press would be all over it. Well done, I liked this perspective.
