The Doctor's channeling Harry Potter. He *is*!

So, something rather exciting happened today. I was talking to a friend after creative writing class about how it was sad we didn't get to write prose, because I'm much better at it. She replied, "Oh, yeah, Kiley said your prose is beyond awesome. You write fanfic, right ( Read more... )

So is this what you and Emily were talking about after my freakout? LOL I apologize for that, by the way.

As for fanfic...I know I've read some good stuff, but mostly it's all been so long ago that I don't really remember! I actually think I have some under my favorites, but um, I'm not sure it's what you're looking for. I know that one of them is just something I loved because it reminded me of my favorite Faulkner story. Which I won't name, since if you have read it, and then ever want to read that fic, it'll be completely ruined for you LOL. But I digress.

And um. :D Lots and lots of :D

Oh no, I forgot to hug you! UGH I was too concerned with...things.

How'd uh...things go? I must know. Also, icon? He might be my new favorite LOST character. After the loss of Charlie... *sob*

I'll take something as far as HP fanfic. I really want to write something for dear Emily...but I have a feeling it's going to be hard.

Things went well. :D !!! And um. He's going to call me tomorrow and we'll do something? Like, coffee? And um. He's super. Did I say that already? I did. :D I think I might go squee about it some more later on my own journal. :D

He's my new favorite, too! After Charlie! ;_; And Hurley, of course. Can't ever forget him.

I'll have to look at the stuff I had favorited, because I haven't in a while. I haven't read anything in a while. And it might be hard, but I'm sure you can do it. I've read your stuff. Just...don't worry about it sucking LOL. I doubt it will. :)

Your icon so made me giggle, I just had to show you my one and only HP icon. A friend made it for me from my own photograph.

Heh heh, apologies for bursting out of nowhere here. I know some people don't like that, but I came to look at your userpics and got distracted :/

Anyway, what are you after? I read Marauder's era almost exclusively so have little to offer you by way of the trio because, as you say, none of them are going to top JKR. But if you're willing, one of the most popular pairings is Remus/Sirius which I shipped for a long while so I could rec you some from there?

Shoebox_project is near perfect and massively popular (R/S eventually, but mostly just the Marauders across a whole bunch of years)

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2489360/1/A_Keen_Observer is long and can have really clunky prose at times but she has great characterisations and really nailed the world (Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa across Andromeda's years at Hogwarts)

barefootboys more R/S, seasonal comm that I've found to be pretty good quality mostly.

How have I not replied to this yet? Me = teh durm. I'm always happy to make new friends, though, even if I am way behind here!

Thanks for the recs! I've been super busy over the past...well, couple of months, but I'm gonna have to check these out! To be really honest, I never even thought about writing the Marauders, but that's an excellent idea; I think I could handle them.

Hello! Came across you over a lotr_fic_recs and thought I'd check you out.

I don't write HP, though I read it sometimes. This one's a favorite of mine, though of course it's completely AU now that all the books are done. It was written under the name of "rabbit" by rabidsamfan

Yet Another Snape Meets the Dursleys Fic
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/601118/1/

It's a nice long read, and I love the way Snape remains his cranky snarky self, even through all that he goes through for Harry in it. I could just *see* his eyes rolling...lol!

Do you read much LotR fic? I know you said you'd only written the one, which was a marvelous first-time meeting for Frodo and Sam--I loved Sam's innocence in that. You did a great job capturing his childlike attempts at comfort without making him sound like a baby. LotR's the only fandom I write in except for one Narnia fic for Yuletide last year--I write gen, with my attention spread about equally among the four main hobbits and sometimes Bilbo.

Hello, hello! I saw your comment on the rec page, and thanks so much for that! I'm a slave to feedback, so you've definitely given me the fuzzies for the day ( ... )

I'm ashamed to say, I don't even leave feedback for HP fic, because the whole atmosphere weirds me out--it's so volatile and full of wank, and I don't want to get involved ( ... )

HP fic is certainly dangerous... Truth be told, I just think the possibilities for LotR fic are just more interesting. I'm mostly a gen girl myself, though I'll admit to reading more hobbit slash than I probably should. My only true squick is RP fics...I'm just not okay with them in principle ( ... )
