When I first heard the news, I will admit to feeling a bit of schadenfreude, thinking that maybe something negative and with an impact to their bottom line had happened as a result of that business last year. But when I read the press release, which basically says "we're doing *too much* stuff this year to host a BlizzCon! Goooooooooooo us!", any smugness I felt vanished.

I'm sure they'd say that even if it wasn't true, and possibly admit to it later.

Good point, it is possible it's just a spin. No way to know for sure at this point, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
