Buffy didn't know what killed an ice demon, so she'd taken along the usual: she had a stake tucked into her back pocket(which was more for if they ran into the errant vamp), a big knife in her boot, and the protection charm that Will had given her, back in Sunnydale, around her neck.

She was more cautious than Faith, walking a little slower, checking more corners and alleys than the other Slayer.

Faith wasn't in the mood to be cautious. Sure, it would have been a good idea. Sure, being jumpy and restless and not paying attention was what had made her kill--

--was... what had made her screw up in Sunnydale. But nature was nature, right? And slow and careful wasn't in hers. It just... wasn't.

"See anything?" she hissed, peering around a corner.

"No, and my...Slayer senses aren't exactly tingling..." Buffy sighed, taking a step out of the alley they'd been exploring to look around the street. It was pretty deserted. "I think we should head over to the other area this thing's been targetting. I know a lot of homeless folks set up over there."

"Homeless folks? That's the MO?" Faith snorted. "What an asshole. Right behind you, B." She tucked her stake into the back of her jeans and gave Buffy a playful nudge. "Let's go play Superman. Or Robin Hood, or whatever."
