I don't know how anyone's completed this challenges. It's so insane to make 7 icons from 1 cap! Anyway, I absolutely love the complex nature of 5. There are just so many elements going on that pull my eye in all sorts of directions. The colors are wild, and then there's the tiny frames, and then the silhouettes on top of that! I also love how you obscured her eyes in the 6th piece. I've always been a sucker for obscured eyes in icons!
You know what, the difficulty of making 7 different icons from one cap is the reason I suddenly went "screw all this 'not ready' crap, I'm going to do the unthinkable and force myself to think outside the box and make things my 3-year-hiatus-self is not ready for". I mean, I've always forced myself to get better by doing stupid unthinkable "wtf are you on" crap lol, so if you think about it it's not anything different from before XD
IDK if I'm actually sort of cheating though, since the cap is like almost lost in some of those but the samples did have a blocking one so I just inching along lol.
...I'm wordvomitingrambling again so sorry lol BUT THANK YOU! I do love 5 so much too, I'm super glad you like it! I saw that texture skimming contextures and I was like, hot damn need to use this somewhere. As for the obscured eyes icon, haha I'm glad you like it, I'm so on the fence on that, wasn't 100% sure it works! (My icons went from traditional to "ok are you drunk" down to the seventh lol.)
Yeah, there's really no better way than to just bite the bullet and jump back in so you don't overthink everything. And this is one hell of a challenge to take upon yourself right out the gate so GOOD FOR YOU!
Isn't it great when you see a texture that you just know you have to use? It makes you wanna hard to integrate that element properly! Oh, and the obscured eyes effect works well, believe me. (Ummm, all my icons skew towards "ok are you drunk" right from the moment I open PS. You're not alone.)
Yeah, that's one thing I should practice more--less overthinking! I'm glad I did, eventually, just go for it. I feel quite more relaxed about everything as a result :3
Aw, 2 and 3 are like star-crossed lovers expressed via icon form. Really cute, and I like how you tucked her away in the clouds. I'm also digging 5 and its composition of silhouettes over the more colorful picspam of sorts.
Thank you! ♥ I don't know if you've watched this movie but they are pretty much star crossed lovers so I'm super happy you thought that! It wasn't exactly my intention (...I just wanted to make 7 icons hahaha) but ♥♥♥ And I'm happy you love 5, I love it too!
Thank you! Side by side they do look like a set, don't they? :D I'm glad you like 4 and 7, especially the latter, by the end of my set I was kind of like, "I have no idea what to do anymore" so I'm glad the 7th got a little love!
It's amazing how many creative compositions you made with just one cap. 2, 3 and 6 are awesome! I also really like 4. The colors and text use are great :)
