I figured there would be some official complaint and retraction in due course. Surprising how quickly it came about, but reassuring.

Still, this isn't the only major error in judgment on the part of the N.S. government. I seem to recall a recent incident involving subsidized ATVs for adolescents. Eek. Naturally, the response was an overwhelming, "WHAT were you THINKING?!" from the people of N.S., plus national press coverage. And I should note that very little in Nova Scotia gets national press!

Well yes considering I was living in Ontario and wanted Nova Scotian wine: the response was they make wine there?
Actually the biggest slam to NS to me was at Pearson when I took out my license the customs guy was like: People in NS drive??? - just not professional at all.

Pearson guy MUST have been joking. Or stoned? Surely it's not possible to think that people in NS don't drive. I've never had that comment when carded going out here. I usually get no response, or something along the lines of, "Wow, Nova Scotia, that's a long way away," as if it were a foreign country. Or a story of how they have some family member or once took a vacation in N.S. Generally, there are positive comments.

Being for P.E.I. might be worse (except they may have a less embarrassing provincial government). It's so much smaller and more isolated.
