Despite everything, Ellie knew she had it good, even on the island. Thanksgiving, while an American holiday, seemed as good a time as any to invite people to enjoy their company and show how much she appreciated knowing them. She sent invites earlier in the week, and then began the preparation work.
It wasn't exactly the menu she used to make, of course. Things had to be changed, substituted, but she was up for the challenge. Instead of turkey, there was roasted bird, which tasted as close to the food as she could get, as well as boar meat in case it wasn't good to some people. There was steamed and glazed vegetables, mashed potatoes, something akin to stuffing, and warm bread. Dessert was there too - some fruit pies, as well as sugar cookies. It was all set on the big table Duck had built from them long ago, and while it wasn't exactly a strict sit down affair, there was enough room for everyone.
It'd been a lot of work, but it'd been worth it, and with everything set and people around, Ellie couldn't be more pleased.
