Memoria
Memoria is divided into five districts; the North District, South District, East District, the West District, and the Center District, also known as the City Center. The city is built in such a way that each district always connects to one another no matter where you go, and there is no way that leads out of the city and out of this dimension; even the outskirts of the city and each district is surrounded by mountains and woods that seem to stretch on forever in each direction and make you seem lost and moving in circles if you go too far in the woods. Everywhere you look, there are a variety of things and objects scattered everywhere, a box of donuts, a guitar with missing strings, a fruity dress that no one would think of wearing-- things with value or with no value that was absorbed by this dimension from another world.
The towns, villages, and residential areas can be found in the West District. Overhead, a magnificent castle lies in the North District and it is said that this is where The Oblivisci resides. The East District, often called by the locals as the Recreational District, is where you can find theaters, opera houses, and the like. The South District is located in a forest and it is where Althorus, the Oblivisci's Second-In-Command resides. The City Center is a bustling place with a grand fountain in the middle, surrounded by a marketplace, a park, family-owned shops, and restaurants. It is the busiest part of the city and a lot of people come to the City District, bringing in things that they found with them along the street in order to trade with the others.
However. It is important to note that after the sun sets and darkness begins to seep in, the view of the city begins to change. During the night, the once magnificent castle is seen to be nothing more but
ruins, the structure burnt and crumbling down. The same goes for the theaters, opera houses, and library located in the East District. The City Center is deserted and desolate, making it seem like a ghost town, as if no one has ever been there. The stream beyond the West District that was once crystal clear and pristine has become murky and polluted, and there are all sorts of things floating in the water; a broken baseball bat, a burnt marriage certificate, a dead bouquet of flowers... a representation of the crushed dreams and hopes of people. This is the effect of The Oblivisci absorbing all the power and life that this dimension has given to the forgotten memories, shattered dreams and hopes of the things and people of this world and from the other worlds. You are free to go out even at night, but it is guaranteed that you won't like what you see.
This goes on until the first ray of sunlight and morning comes again. Suddenly, everything in the city is the way it was before. Beautiful, wondrous.
The City Center
During the day, the City Center is a
bustling place where people gather to mingle, trade articles, and occasionally, hold parties and events. There are sights of colorful and different costumes, noisy chatter, and scents of cuisine from all over the world. There is a grand fountain in the middle of the district, a nearby park where children play, a town hall where newcomers and locals can come to volunteer for jobs, and market stalls and shops decorating the roads.
Park
There is a
huge park nearby where children can play and where adults can relax or take a leisurely stroll. There are rose gardens, flower bushes and trees surrounding the area, a
bridge, benches for people to sit on and relax, and the park also contains a
large lake with rowing boats. There is a small sports arena, huge playing fields, and a
children's playground. However, when the night comes, the grasses and the plants will appear to wither and the flowers will appear to be dead, until morning comes again.
Shops
Important! One thing to remember is that money has no value in the city, even when a wallet full of money arrives at your door. Instead, people trade whatever they've found for other things of value.
Here are some of the shops found in the City Center.

→ Mme. Mortiana's Tent
There is a gold and ruby colored tent somewhere in the City Center, and this is where Mme. Mortiana does her fortune-telling using her crystal ball, her tarot cards, and palm-reading. Outside, the tent may seem small but is actually wide and spacious inside, and this is also where the misfortune teller resides. There is a sign on top of the tent adorned with images of the Major Arcana’s Tower and reads: “Mme. Mortiana, Misfortune Teller. No fate too grim, no future too bleak.” Inside, there is a scent of musk, black fruits and incense. There are times when Mme. Mortiana tells fortunes in exchange of things of value, but sometimes she tells your fortune for free.
→ Jim's Place
Jim's Place is a drinking establishment owned by one of the locals named... Jim. Here, the local folks come to relax and socialize after a hard day's work or to simply have a good time with friends and townsfolk. The selection of beers and wine are varied and there are many brews that originated from the city. The walls are a variety of brown hues that glow golden from the yellow lights hanging from the rafters, giving off a warm glow and a homey feel, making the people forget their worries for a moment and chat with the locals. Jim accepts anything of value as payment.
→ Riveting Wears
This is a
clothing shop owned by one of the fashionable locals in the city. Here, you will be able to find lots of different clothes from different eras for both male and female, children and adult. There are your everyday jeans and blouses, there are gowns, cocktail dresses, trousers, capes, wedding dresses (how exactly does one lose a wedding dress?), and more. However, there may be a limited number of clothes at a time, and different clothes only come in one size each. The owner accepts anything of value.
→ Browning's Cafe
Sometimes, during midday or on a nice morning walk, you're overcome with an urge for a special treat.
Browning's cafe is the place to go! It is a quaint indoor-outdoor cafe, serving their customers with a selection of dessert items that commonly include flaky, fruit-filled treats alongside cookies and other treats. The owner of this shop accepts anything of value.
→ Sports Republic
Feeling athletic but have no sports equipment to start?
Sports Republic is the place for you! Started by a jock with an addiction to sports, this shop offers different kinds of sports equipment such as balls, tennis rackets, baseball bats, and the like. The owner of this shop accepts anything of value.
→ Silver and Gold
Here
in this shop, you will be able to find different jewelries and accessories such as rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets, some made of silver, some made of gold, some made of some other metal. The owner of this shop accepts anything of value... or if they like you enough, you'll probably even get it for free.
→ The Repair Shop
Broke a watch or a necklace? You're in luck; just head over to the Repair Shop and they'll have it fixed for you-- FOR FREE! Yes, there's no catch in this one, although you may give the mechanic something of value as an expression of gratitude.
All stores in the City Center will immediately close when the sun begins to set.
If anyone wants to create a shop of their own, all you need to do is speak to Althorus, and he'll gladly help you set one up!
The North District
The North District is home to a magnificent castle that overlooks the entire city, and is said to be where The Oblivisci resides. The castle is off-limits to the ordinary locals and newcomers, except for the castle courtyard where Althorus holds gatherings when he has something important to announce, or when The Oblivisci decides to hold feasts or social events inside the castle. Even then, The Oblivisci doesn't show it's form to anyone.
The Castle Courtyard
The
castle courtyard is where Althorus gathers the locals in order to tell and inform them of something important. There is a small stage and a pulpit where he stands to seperate himself from the citizens.
The Grand Hall
The only
place inside the castle where the locals are allowed to enter. The walls, floors, and beams are made up of gold, silver, and other precious stone, and there are
intricate and beautiful designs on the interior walls and the ceiling. This is where some of the feasts, dances, and social events will be held.
The West District
The West District is where the towns, villages, and residential areas are located. Houses are lined up with one another, with some housing just enough for a group of three, while there are apartment-like buildings that can house a number of people. There are also solar panels lined on the roof, and all around are wind turbines, some even being up to a hundred feet tall, with blades going round and round in the blue skies. Beyond the West District, there are
fields of glorious golds and greens, where a variety of colorful flowers-- mostly forget-me-nots, plants and trees all live together. There are gazebos, and greenhouses that speckle the landscape, where the locals and the villagers grow whatever they can for food. There is also a stream of crystal clear and pristine water where the people can go and get for themselves to drink and use. During the night, however, the fields appear to be dead and the stream turns murky, polluted with dirt and all sorts of things that represent someone's painful memories, crushed dreams and hopes. Also, when one looks deep into the waters during the evening, they will see one of their memories being reflected on the water.
More information on residential areas and housing will appear on the golden device, the M-Net.
Community Eatery
The eatery is building that houses the locals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; a scheme created to help ration and the food they collected and grew. It is a stunning timber build on two levels, with a balcony around four sides from which the views of the other districts, the woods, mountains, and fields were displayed to perfection. Over the front of the building, ornate hand-crafted timber of oversized vine of grapes, wine and bread decorated the entrance.
The Doctor's Clinic
The Doctor's clinic can also be found in the West District, and you can find him there busy doing experiments that he doesn't want you to know about when he's not out in the City Center. The locals come to him whenever they are feeling sick or injured. Though his skills are quite impressive as a general practitioner, be wary of approaching, because most of the screams you hear during the night comes from his clinic.
The East District
The East District, most commonly known as the Recreational District, is lined with sophisticated wooden buildings on each street, with doors and windows decorated with ornate carvings. The cathedral, opera houses, theaters, and the like are all located in this district. There are also a number of cafes that can be found in the district, and a few unused buildings. It is also important to note that once evening strikes, the once majestic buildings will appear to be merely ruins.
Opera House
The Opera House is a magnificent oak theater building used for opera or theater performances that consists of a stage, an orchestra pit, audience seating that can fit more than five hundred people, and backstage facilities for costumes and set building. Some of the locals, the ones who are inclined to acting, often hold musicals or plays in the opera house to entertain the other citizens of Memoria. This can also be used as a cinema, thanks to some of the equipment that one of the locals found and had fixed by the mechanic; however, the cinema currently only shows black and white movies.
Cathedral
There is an
old cathedral in the district that is characterised by large towers and spires, wondrous state-of-the-art stained glass windows, and celestine paintings on the ceiling. Religious locals can visit this cathedral, and this is also where locals can divulge their eternal vows to their beloved in holy matrimony and be wed.
Library
There is an
old library in this district with a variety of books that would probably be of no use to you-- unless you can read Latin or Celtic, in which case you are freely welcome to come and read or borrow books from the Library. Unfortunately, there will be no books explaining this world's existence or how you can get out of the city.
Sports Arena
The sports arena in the East District is much bigger than the one located in the City Central's park. The sports arena plays host to a number of athletic events that the locals want to hold and is big enough to hold 200 people.
Train Station
There is an
old abandoned train station in the East District, but it is unused. There are train tracks leading to nowhere in particular, and an old and unused train is locked in the tracks.
The South District
The South District is situated in a forest, and it is where some of the powerful beings in the city live, such as Althorus and the Phantom, who lives in the deepest, darkest part of the woods. There are a variety of animals that can be seen in the forest, such as horses, squirrels, and more.
Althorus' House
Althorus lives in a small, yet cozy house in the forest. You can visit Althorus if you have any problems, and when he is available, he will do his best to try and help you.
Misc
The Woods
The city and the districts are surrounded by woods and mountains that seem to stretch on forever, making one lost and appear as if they are walking in circles when they go deep into the woods.
