Sitting down at the table, she looked over her to-do list. She'd called Rachel (check), run to the market (double-check), dropped the tablecloths at the cleaners (check again), started dinner (check-a-rooney). Bills weren't due up yet, and the yard was taken care of until next week. Leaning back in the chair, she pursed her lips at the next item, eyes going unfocused in thought. Out of habit, she'd done quite a bit of reading about the Janus Center before signing up to participate in the auction -- willing to help a good cause didn't mean not checking them out first, though Judah had teased her for being cautious when she'd mentioned it to him.
But she'd enjoyed herself, and an idea had started in the back of her head while she'd chatted and mingled, meeting new people and catching up with people she knew. The center staff had been busy, visibly whisking about to take care of things, so talking to them hadn't been possible; on the other hand, she'd managed to get a name and an e-mail address from their website, and now she had a few spare minutes, she could get to work on that.
Finishing her tea, she rinsed her mug in the sink and put it in the dishwasher before heading to the living room. She sat on the couch with a small sigh and a quirk of her lips, folding her legs under her Indian-style and pulling her laptop onto her knees. It took a moment to find the address she'd jotted down in her planner, then she started to type, tongue sticking out very slightly as she concentrated.

Several comments made during the course of the evening piqued my interest in learning what sort of volunteer opportunities are currently available through your program.
