While he knew someone else was in the room before he opened the door, he still opened it. After all, he really was convinced it was his, but the hotel had a nasty habit of getting people turned around when all they really wanted was a soft bed and a lock to close the world away for a little while.

Green eyes peering over at the bed, he paused, careful to leave the door cracked open. If it closed while he was moving closer to the bed, that couldn't be helped.

"Well now, that certainly doesn't look like my room, other than the ever present garish decor."

Opening his eyes at the voice, which was a little too familiar to be ignored, Tenpou wasn't sure whether he was more surprised or amused by the man that looked similar to himself.

"Really? I suppose the particular shade of red could easily begin to grate on one's nerves if it's everywhere," he replied, tilting his head a little.

Thin lips curled up into one of his infamous polite smiles. Now that he was close enough, he could see the familiarity was odd... and striking.

"You must be new here, then. I warn you. It's almost everywhere. Thankfully, the garden and beach seem to be mostly free of it."

Tenpou's expression was one of mild curiosity and could be considered mellow. I wasn't hard to guess the purpose of this place, and hopefully this man who was almost his double was willing to fill him in on any specifics or untie him.

"I am, and I may have to visit both of those places if I find the time...though I'm equally curious about any reading material I can find here."

Hakkai was next to the bed now, already leaning in closer to check and see how easy his bonds would be to simply loosen or untie.

"There's a library here, but it's filled with rather bad books full of pornography or trite romance novels, which usually end up being nothing more than porn themselves. Every now and again, you're able to find something of worth. If you do, it's best to sneak it back to your room and keep it for as long as possible."

Lips pursed in thought, he shifted a little closer.

"I assume you can tell what's going on around here. At least, part of it, yes?"

Well that was a bit discouraging. Tenpou would almost literally read anything, but pornography wasn't high on his list of things he read frequently. He would definitely be hoarding any books he preferred, as it was a habit of his anyway. "I'll be sure to do that."

Waiting patiently for Hakkai to look over the ropes binding his arms. They weren't unnecessarily tight or uncomfortable, but he couldn't manage to work them loose.

"In general yes, the noise from the other rooms, the aphrodisiacs and the painting on that wall made it more than clear."

"That saves me a little explaining, then. The main thing you should know is simply that we're all stuck here. The hotel itself seems to be a mildly sentient place, as odd as it sounds. I'm not sure if it likes having so much company or is just voyeuristic in nature."

Sighing softly, he pulled back and tipped his head, still thinking.

"In my experience, when someone is bound in this hotel, there's usually few options to free them. Sex is usually the one that ends up working."

"I'm sure there are stranger things...though none come to mind at the moment." He made a mental note of what he was told though, tilting his head back to look at his bonds.

"I suppose that it makes sense in a way, but for future reference is it safe to assume they can sometimes simply be removed?"

"Sometimes."

Slim fingers reached up to try and pull the ropes free. Murmuring a soft apology for the possibility of bruising the other, he tugged.

"It's rather unusual, though. I do hope you don't mind some problematic nights while you're here."

Tenpou didn't flinch even though the ropes pinched a bit, nodding slightly at Hakkai's statement. "I'll have to manage I suppose. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been here?"

Hakkai was silent for several long moments, his hand going still on the ropes. Slowly, his hands moved away to settle idly nearby.

"Quite a long time. After a while, you lose track of the days. Months. So on."

"That is rather disconcerting, especially should someone have something they want to return to."

Tenpou tgave Hakkai a contemplative look, wondering what sort of life he'd come from before this and if he had something to return to.

"Most would say they have something to return to."

Frowning the tiniest bit, he turned to settle on the edge of the bed.

"I'm sorry, but the ropes don't seem to be loosening."

"Most likely, but there are likely some who don't I'd guess." It was tempting to ask some about his look-a-like, but he would rather be free first if possible.

"So then there's only the obvious answer..."

The only thing that hadn't sent Hakkai edging off the bed at the idea of such intimacies was the simple fact that the person he was speaking to had such an odd... likeness. Almost a connection of some sort.

Lips set in a carefully neutral expression, he leaned a little closer, his fingers almost moving to slide the fringe of hair out of his eyes.

"I should warn you. In this place, even that isn't such an obvious answer. Would you be comfortable sleeping with someone you don't know?"

Tenpou considered his near-double's words, and simply mild and contemplative expresion on his face as the other leaned closer. What he'd said was true in many situations of course. As for the question of whether he would comfortable in sleeping with a stranger...

"That would depend on the stranger in the end, I'd have to say," he replied after a moment more. After all sometimes one had to do things they weren't comfortable with.
