[Apparently Homare doesn't know a few things that he probably ought to know. Lirael considers long and hard and screws up her courage before sending him a text message, making it as private as she knows how to. Which isn't very private, but hey, she's trying.]

Homare, Naoshi volunteered. It was his idea, to begin with. I promise, he was not left out there alone and without support. He had the best magical protections I could cast on him, and physical protections as well, considering I was standing right there beside him the whole time, and there were people with guns right behind him.

Everyone should be allowed to help in any way they can, Homare. He could do this, and there was no reason not to let him since he was determined. As soon as there was any real danger, he ran, and he ran to the safe place we'd prepared. It was fine, Homare.

He did a very good job, too. [Because surely Homare would want to know that so he could be proud of him, too.]
