[ At first there's nothing there. Just a tidy looking room in a small looking house, complete with purple sheets and a little glass with flowers by the window sill.

Then Steph pokes her head onto the screen. ]

Look what I did! Okay, I know it's been a while since that storm, but fixing up a house is not easy work. And I had to start from

We have most of the rooms fixed, most of the important ones anyway. But if you would like to come and work on the supply room or the operating room with us, that would be fine. We haven't gotten to those yet.

I kind of think she's pretty all over.

[Lirael had pretty much thought, even if she didn't know what to do with a cat, and even if the cat didn't like her, she could at least have one that was nice to look at from afar, wandering the hospital. But it's obvious there's a kitten on the other side of that door, because it's meowing. Lirael opens it up, and Elle comes tumbling out to pounce on Lirael's foot.]

Oh! She's an energetic little thing, isn't she?

[ Steph reaches down to pet her. ]

[roadstotheriver]

[Elle lets go of Lirael's boots-- they aren't very interesting to play with, anyway, with very little in the way of lacing or decoration-- with a curious mrrow at Stephanie's fingers. Then, after a quick sniff, she's decided she recognizes the scent and is happy enough to pounce and chew on the offered fingers.]

Elle! [Lirael exclaims, torn between a tiny laugh and dismay, that surely Stephanie will be upset, and she crouches, aiming to pull the kitten away.]

[ Steph yelps in surprise at the sudden attack, helping Lirael pry the little girl off her hand. ]

Oh yeah, definitely energetic. [ The cat finally removed, Steph lets out a breathy laugh. ]

If you can believe it, that probably means she likes you, [Lirael says apologetically, cuddling the kitten into the crook of her handless arm.] If she didn't, she would have run away. I'll, um, leave her here....

Probably for the best. [ She laughs. ] I'll come back with long sleeves some time.

Probably also for the best, [Lirael agrees, and puts Elle back into her office and hurriedly shuts the door.] I guess now we get to get to work. No more distractions. [Hopefully! Though distractions aren't that bad. Not when the work is boring.]
