I decided to do my Top 10 Vocalists (In No Particular Order!)! So here's the first installment. Who is it?....
Tony Kakko - Sonata Arctica.
I'm not into the power metal genre at all. In fact, I know very little Scandinavian music in general. But I heard Sonata Arctica years and years ago and was pretty affected by his voice. There's something very pure and unique to it, beyond his accent. I think their songs are near perfection-- all the instruments, the melodies, everything-- and I'm not one for noticing these things. But, above all, I can't get enough of his voice. I think it's beautiful, and I think his heavy accent just adds to it.
My Top 3 Vocal Performances (bearing in mind I'm still a new Sonata Arctica fan and have yet to delve into their full discography)
1. Letter to Dana.
I decided to pick a more accessable song as the first track for Tony. Fan of power metal or not, I think most people can appreciate this song. Plus, ballads are always good for showcasing voices that embody purity and perfection, right?

2. Wolf & Raven
If you would please humor me and listen through this whole song, and in the end still aren't impressed by this man's voice, you can kindly see a doctor to figure out what the actual fuck is wrong with your hearing.

3. Full Moon
Continue to be amazed, because he needs no further commentary.
